Most of the senior girls from Barbe and St. Louis have grown up together and played soccer together for the last 6 or 7 years. This will be the last game between the girls that have helped create the foundation of both programs.

after the last four years of talking smack with barbedad about this rivalary you would think this would be the biggest game yet. especially after the drubbing they gave us earlier this year. unfortunately I cant get fired up because I know this will be last time I will see the girls I have watched play together since U-10 on the same field. I trully wonder if there is life after soccer

I too, like the mysterious poster "Burt Vincent", approach this game with a heavy heart. Almost half of the starters from both St Louis and Barbe come from the same Select Team. (Even though the U-18 Rage claim Nat Ieyoub, she is still one of "us"). Every year we play this game I have knots in my stomach when we play this game because there is no true winners or losers after the game. Both Barbe's and St Louis's success over the last 4 years have been the result of the foundation built by the training and dedication of the players and yes parents of these 14 players. I guess most teams can play the what-if game and I know I do when I think that 6 of the 7 players from this Select Team that play for St Louis live in Barbe School District with many I can see from the press-box of the Barbe Soccer Complex. Wow, what a team that would be........ But anyway, I digress.... As every time we play this game I hope for many things, 1) That no one gets hurt, 2) It improves both teams as they drive for a State Title, and 3) A Tie so both teams and parents leave with a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
Good luck St Louis Lady Saints... I have always said they are my 2nd favorite team in the whole world. And if I were to vote: I would have to go with:
A Tie and Who cares, Barbe has the best Soccer Complex Ever!

Well, lets hope that St. Louis does not let Barbe dominate the whole game, but then score a lucky goal...that would be ugly.

Barbedad20 the st. Louis girls do not read these post. however coach oertling does. he told the girls that they were not to be sad or hope for a tie.
My honest prediction
St.louis 2 Barbe 2
St. Louis scores on a PK in last 3 minuets of game. By the way Brooke has one assist and the PK

What a game. st louis dominated the 1st half and should have been 4 or 5 goals to the good at half time but only lead 1-0 having 3 balls cleared off the line and a penalty waved away. the second half was at a slower tempo but Barbe still failed to test the st louis keeper it took them until the last kick of the game to make her make a save. The st louis second goal came from a mix up in the Barbe defense and Natalie played a ball to Kathleen white who poked it home.
