Should be one of the best games this month. Who is going to take it and why? I have seen SSA (and very impressed) by have not seen Fontainebleau so if you have seen both what is your opinion??

I've seen both teams play. SSA is going to win this one. SSA is a quality team that plays beautiful soccer. Fontainebleau plays boom ball soccer and use their speed up top to make goals. They won't be able to do that with SSA. SSA has a lot of skill and speed in the back nothing gets passed them. It should be a good game but SSA will definitely win.

2 excellent teams and the Fontainebleau girls will definitely play with skill and heart. I haven't seen SSA yet this year but they have all of the same girls that they had last year - I believe that there was only 1 senior that played last year. Throw in the fact that most of those girls play together as well on a club team and I think that what I saw last year is what I will see this year - They are argueably the best team in the state (sorry STM). I have to agree with Soccermom20.

This game should let us know whether SSA is deserving of their #2 ranking. With 3 losses this year, I believe they're slightly over-rated....and maybe Fontainebleu should be in that spot. This should be a great game. Prediction....FHS 2 SSA 1

I have seen some of the SSA girls take shots from the 40 and make them. I agree that they have a great advantage in that they play together in club and that alot of them are coached by the same club coach. That really makes a difference.

FHS have lost a lot in the middle of the middle, looking somewhat lightweight. Also, they have a number of freshmen playing. I see SSA taking this one, but not by much.

The sad irony of the game is that nothing she posted came to pass. Fontainebleu was the more disciplined team tonight. They made the passes, found the open man and made the right decisions. SSA was errant with their passes, reduced to the point of playing "kick ball". Fontainebleu was in position to take quality shots on goal which were turned away by quality goal keeping. SSA was out hustled and out coached. But in the end they still had an opportunity to win and that is the meddle of a champion.

as well as you say fhs played they didnt earn either of their goals. first was a bogus pk call and the 2nd the ssa keeper slipped while coming out to get the ball and it bounced in an open net.

I don't mean to offend anyone but the term that someone was 'outcoached' is used too easily by people that didn't know what a soccer ball was until their daughter was 10 years old.

that was a very good game. henry 10 please stop making excuses, fontainebleau got the goals, and ssa didnt. big deal. sometimes things just go good for one team, and bad for another. there is still another game to be played between these 2 and it should be a great one.

I believe both Mike and Wes to be quality coaches and I think adelantero should be careful when using the term "outcoached"
The SSA girls did well, it couldn't have been easy having lost one of their best players on Tuesday to an ACL tear.
I'm a neutral supporter so I believe I'm allowed to say that FHS last goal was a fluke. SSA's keeper slipped on the loose turf and the ball trickled in. It was a great game and I am looking forward to round 2. My hats off to both teams.

SSA did loose one of there best players on Tuesday which is very sad because she really brought alot to that team. I did not know this until Thursday night after I had posted my original comment. Obviously, it sounds like it was a good game and things just did not go SSA's way. I still believe that SSA is a much better team than FHS. There next match up should be a good one. Congrats FHS.

FHS played as a team and won as a team. The SSA goalie did slip but had already misjudged the ball and couldn't compensate.
SSA counts on a few good players while FHS demonstrates team play. Why make excuses for losing?

SSA 1 – 2 FHS
First, I would like to commend FHS for their victory last Friday. It was a well fought game not decided until overtime played at a high level of competition.
My daughter has played with and against most of the girls at FHS for many years. Every high school season she has always looked forward to this game to represent SSA against FHS. I know she is disappointed in how the game ended; however, at least this year they have a second opportunity to reverse the outcome on their home field.
Entering the season much was expected of SSA in Division I. The team, coaches and parents all had high hopes of adding another State Championship. The girls have played well and had some close games; some of those in their favor, others not. What they need not lose sight of is their preseason goal. Keep playing well and it is still attainable. The playoffs should be exciting for everyone.
Go Blue!
