In D6 St. Amant would be the 3rd place team, in D9 I think it would fall Bonnabel 1st and a toss-up between Higgins and West Jeff for 2nd and 3rd.

I will be sure to let my girls know that Byrd is listed as the 1-1 team in the bracket. Nothing like some good locker room material to get them motivated with 2 games vs Byrd in the next 3 weeks.

Not trying to start a war (like Caddo and Byrd need anymore fuel), just stating if playoffs started today..... Byrd is 5-0 and Caddo is 4-0. You will see quite a few changes over the next couple of weeks.

2 very good teams will be going home in the first round in the 3-2 vs 7-2 game and the 10-1 and 7-3 game. The first few teams in each of these districts are better than most and since those districts are paired is unfortunate.

great job, Barbedad - this bracket set up demonstrates how ridiculous the current system is - of the top 10-12 teams, 6 will be in the bottom 1/4 bracket and the remaining 3 quarters will each have a couple of the top teams. If the poll is even remotely on target, 4 of the top 7 teams in the state will be playing first round games against each other. You would think that with a 32-team bracket, throwing darts to select opponents would result in more appropriate matchups. It is a shame that the relative QUALITY of the teams is not considered in some way, however imperfect. ANY seeding system, regardless of how judgemental or arbitrary, would be better than the status quo - can't there be any move away from the absurdity that the LHSAA has in place today?!

I couldn't agree more with both my2centsplus and diverdo. And then you will hear that team X made it far into the playoffs and they were preparing all year to peak etc. and they will falsely assume (and demand) that they are better than the teams that happen to be eliminated earlier than them because of this ridiculous and third world country system. LHSAA WAKE UP!

I definitely agree. In District 6, it looks although it would be more beneficial to be the second place team than the first place team. This system is very flawed.

I think it might be a little premature to list MCA as "set". They still have district games against Dominican and Chalmette which were postponed from earlier dates.

Sorry, not trying to be Nostradamus (sp??) and look into the future. Just going by what I see on paper. Will correct. Also, can you send me the district records of all District 10 teams?

Shreve beat Southwood tonight to go to 5-4 in district with only Magnet to play on Monday. Shreve will most likely end up 5-5 in district and 7-6 overall against D1 teams.

in district 9, bonnabel is first, but grace king is probably second, dont know about the other two. all i know is that the grace king soccer team has lost to bonnabel twice, but beaten west jeff twice and ehret at least once, other than that, i know nothing about the district, if tigertail has better connections in the district then go with him.
overall though, don't expect much from the teams come playoffs. as much as ill support them, they have never won one playoff game from my experiences.

If the expected bracket is correct there will be some amazing first round games with several teams exiting the first round that if placed elsewhere in the bracket could be semi even quarterfinalist. Do we need power rankings?
These are the games that I think could change the quarters.
1-1 Byrd/Caddo Magnet 4-3 New Iberia
7-1 Fontainebleau 6-3 St Amant
3-2 Acadiana 7-2 SSA
10-1 Mt Carmel 7-3 Mandeville

How are the dates, times and field locations determined for each of the playoff games?
Also, if any have been set, are they posted anywhere?

How are the dates, times and field locations determined for each of the playoff games? Also, if any have been set, are they posted anywhere? In our case the process is this. The coaches of each team speak and try to agree upon a date and time. Then the coaches relay this info back to their principals and the principals talk and try to come up with an acceptable time/date. One thing you may or may not know, the coaches/principals also discuss which referee association they would like to use. If the coaches/principals can not agree on a date and time (this rarely happens) then the game defaults to the last date at 3:30 pm. (Which in this case would be Friday at 3:30 pm). Once the brackets are set (should be late Monday/Tuesday) we will start a bracket with dates and times for everyone to follow. I hope this helps.

"If the coaches/principals can not agree on a date and time (this rarely happens) then the game defaults to the last date at 3 pm. (Which in this case would be Friday at 3 pm)." Didn't know that. Thanks for sharing some of that infinite wisdom, Barbedad
