As far as I know, it is against LHSAA rules to play any type of match between the end of your district date and playoffs. Games can only be played up and until district is finalized. Not true... Playoff warmup matches have been played for ever.

Playoff warmup matches have been played for ever. The dates may be a day off but I am pretty sure the girls cut off date is Monday and the boys is Tuesday. They can play on those days but the playoff brackets are released the following day.

STM 4 St. Louis 2
St. Louis scored 2 early on nice cross and pk. The rest of the game pretty much dominated by STM.

Lady Saints are a class team with good play and great parents/fans. Hope you win it all this year in DIII. Good luck in the playoffs.

Playing this game late in the season is a testament to both teams and their desire to be as prepared as they can be going into the playoffs. Much credit is due to the Lady Saints for coming in and punching STM in the mouth early. On the flip side, much credit is due to STM for withstanding that punch and retailiating with multiple body blows to bring the game back to their side. To comment on the early banter in this thread, I believe that STM was trying to do the right thing to give Sacred Heart the opportunity to make up the past canceled game. When both Newman and Sacred Heart canceled, the coach for STM would not stand pat and seemingly hide from a challenge, therefore this game was rescheduled.
Kudos to Coach Fell at STM for giving all of these teams the opportunity to come in and challenge his squad. It looks like STM was more than up to the challenge.
Good luck to both teams on their quest to play in Shreveport on Feb. 22nd and 23rd.

I agree with daflash. many thanks to coach Fell and the stm girls for allowing the lady saints to come in and get a great tune up game for the playoffs and an opportunity to play on artificial turf. The Lady Saints last three games had been played in rainy , muddy conditions we needed a game to get our timming back. I hope the lady saints learned a lesson from this game. It ain't over till its over. Also I would like to warn the teams which STM will face in the playoffs, STM keeps coming at you until you breakdown, They are strong at every position and well disciplined.
I want to send out an apology to the STM parents who graciously cooked Hamburgers for our girls. After our second half performance, coach Paul didn't think the girls deserved to be treated to dinner, it may have spoiled our appetite for the humble pie which we were having for desert
