goalgoalgoal02, re your post, the reasonable way to "trying to stop scoring" isn't to leave your starters in for most of the game which your coach has a puzzling habit of doing, at least in the games I have attended. Fontainebleau has a very talented bench full of premier players and why they don't play more and play earlier in blowout games doesn't make much sense to this observer. The team is one of the very best in the state and leaving starters in with the playoffs right around the corner just risks injury and teaches nothing constructive while excellent players on the bench could improve so much more and be better equipped to replace an injured starter or step up next year. Besides, beginning next year you will no longer be the biggest high school in the state with the opening of the new high school in Mandeville and 1/2 of your players will be gone and the players and coaches for these other high schools will remember how you "tried to stop scoring."

diverdo,
the starters were pulled halfway through the first half, when it was 4 or 5-0, and then put back in to start the second half, and then pulled again with 30 minutes left in the game, when the score was already 9-0. The last three goals were scored by defenders who were moved to forwards to try and stop the scoring.
the only starters to go back in were the seniors, because it was senior night, and the forwards went in at defense, and the goalkeeper went in at forward. with 10 minutes left.
you might want to get the facts straight. just because the score was so high doesn't mean fontainebleau left their starters in the whole game.

Loyola 2 Parkway 1 Parkway's goal was scored in the final 2 minutes of the game when Loyola's starting center mid was out and the ref told her she couldn't come back in because the game was almost over. Great game. Very well played by both teams and good sportsmanship by both teams.
