Lafayette High 8-0 Carencro
It was Senior night and all 6 seniors started the game. (Usually 4 are starters) The Varsity scored 6 goals while the JV squad played the last 30 minutes and scored 2 goals. A total of 29 players played in this game. First action the JV squad has seen in 4 weeks, due to teams not being able to field a JV team.
Look out playoff foes, the lady LIONS are beginning to gel.

sokerfan, Lafayette is a very good team but the way the brackets are structured they have no real opponents until the semifinals anyway, so they won't be tested until then. Better teams than Lafayette are scheduled to take each other much earlier than that.

reddevil, I agree that Lafayette should make it to the Semi's, but I disagree about not being battle tested. They have played Mt. Carmel (twice) Barbe, Newman, St. Louis (twice) Acadiana and Byrd this year. We know what teams are like out there and after trying different formations and different lineups, the coaching staff is putting a team that is starting to gel together at the right time. Unlike some who play nobodys along the way to pad their records Lafayette takes a different approach, and that is to play the best and see what you have and who on your team can play against the best. Yes we would all love to be undefeated at this time, but we have found a few surprises along our way. We have found that 3 freshman can play and start, a sophmore keeper - can play, and we have to rely on our 4 seniors for scoring if we want to win. Or we can play our seniors on defense and play to a tie game and go to a shootout. There are some things we can do because of these younger girls playing tough teams through the year, they have grown tremendously.
I guess all I am saying is don't let the record fool you, Lafayette is playing better than they did even 2 weeks ago.

sokerfan, I agree with you but the fact is that Lafayette wins one game and they are in the final!
