At the ED White / St Charles game, a player was called for cutting too much and was told to stop or she would get a card...Is there a rule against cutting as many players as you can until you can pass? I have never ever heard of this....

That is bizaare. Never heard of that before. Unless the player was making comments after faking out the players.

The player wasn't making any commets. If this particular ref is on this board, please clear this up. This player would never question the ref during the game, and was looking to ask him afterward but did not have the opportunity.

Would be interesting to find out the explanation of this call. Really would like the understanding of what was intended by the official.

This baffles me. I was at the game and didn't see or hear anything like this from the official to any of the players. I couldn't see why an official would tell a player to quit "cutting" (back and forth). I did see many pushing calls against players with the ball, he may have been talking about "cutting" them off with the offensive players hands. I don't know, I am taking an educated guess here. It would have to be really nasty and dirty for something like that to deserve a card.

I can't imagine an official telling a player to "Stop cutting" so much or he'll card them. There must be a misinterpretation of the word "cutting". Not saying he did not use "cutting" but he must have had a different approach to the word.
I hope this is the case b/c if not that is pretty ridiculous.

Cussing, maybe?

The other possible explanation (I wasnt there so I dont know exactly what happened) is I have seen the following happen.....Everytime a player "cuts" another player (using your terms), they go "whoop", effectively taunting the player as they go by. At that point, a ref could have an issue.

where was the game played?
I wouldn't think it would be cussing, because you would usually let play go on, and then caution the cuss unless it was clearly loud an obnoxious, or directed at somebody.

This game was played at ED White. There was no cussing or taunting going on on either side. The ref said, "This is just too much". He stopped the play and the other team got a free kick....??
