Use this thread to report on Div II games :
1-31 Parkway v. St Fredricks
Game started with 20-30 mph winds, field was saturated from the rain, temps very cold with the windchill. The first half Parkway controlled the ball completely with only a couple of ventures downfield by SF. I've seen Parkway play several times this year and not to diminish any of their other games, but they looked incredibly sharp with great passing and teamwork. It is only to the credit of the St Fredricks keeper that things didn't get out of hand early. The first half ended with PHS up 2-0.
The second half was much like the first, all PHS with some valiant efforts by the SF keeper, but she just couldn't keep up with all the shots from every angle possible on the field. Game ended 8-0 with Parkway looking like a force to be reckoned with down the road. Game was well called and played clean.

Thanks for the game summary bucsfan. Our girl's really came together and played well last night. The SF keeper was kept very busy and saved a bunch! Best of luck to the Haughton girl's against Cabrini tonight!
To the SF fans and players, we enjoyed having you in Bossier. The fans and the players were first class!

Loyola 0 Neville 2 Neville scored early in the 1st half on a ball that rolled around in the box after a corner kick. After that it stayed 1-0 until they scored again with about 5 minutes to go in the game. There were some very questionable calls. Loyola played their hearts out but could not put it in. Neville had many more shots and played a great game. Congratulations Neville.

Haughton 5 Cabrini 1 Back home at 230 this morning after a very long trip. The game was very physical from the start with both teams playing some tough defense. The first score came about 10 minutes in when Katie Cox headed a ball in off of a beautiful corner kick by Liz Murray. Ruth Ouzts scored next off a pass from Jasmine Dixon. After a series of exchanges and a couple of nice saves by Courtney Hamric in the box, Liz scored unassisted with a sharp shot into the net at 35 minutes in. The Cabrini ladies regrouped at halftime and after a long period of back and forth play, started taking shots from way outside with one finding its way in. At 35 minutes of the second half Liz got free on a break away and drilled one high into the net. A couple of minutes later she shot a beautiful rainbow pass into the box and Ruth punched it in on the way down. Overall it was a very competetive, physical game in some great soccer weather, for a change. There were a couple of questionable calls but they went both ways. A lot of credit to the Cabrini ladies as they played hard for the entire game. Absolutely no quit in them. Our girls really came together and now we advance to the quarterfinals for the first time in school history!

Yes, we do play Wednesday @ 4:00 pm. And yes it is rather odd that we play a Catholic school on Ash Wednesday.

It is really not that odd, there are 14 Catholic schools across the state playing on Wednesday.

St Michael - 1 Haughton - 0 Unfortunaately due to the inclimate weather delaying the game I was unable to attend. From what I've been told, it was a very hard fought game that could have gone either way. Back and forth physical soccer with St Michaels scoring with just 8 min left in regulation. Congratulations to them on their victory.
I would like to congratulate the lady bucs for a great, history making season. No one expected them to make the playoffs, but they never gave up. From starting 1-6 to the incredible first ever playoff win against Cabrini the girls played their hearts out. We are all so very proud of all of you. Best of luck to our 6 seniors as the move forward. We will miss you. Thanks to Coach Love and Coach Melton for your dedication in working with the girls. As parents we greatly appreciate everything you do.

Congratulations to the Lady Bucs for their top notch play last night. As Bucsfan said, the game could have gone either way. Every girl on the field last night played with absolutely everything they had until the final whistle blew. Best of luck next year!

Thanks phsmom, now how about a recap of the Lady Panthers awesome win last night down south? Congratulations to all the girls. They have played tough all year and certainly deserve to be playing this deep in the playoffs. Good luck the rest of the way.

bucsfan...and anyone else reading!
I am never a good one to re-cap a game, I can never remember who did what when, but here is my take on things.
Defense was the name of the game last night! We started out strong in the first half with our first shot coming very soon after kick off, but we were shooting right at the goalie. During the game as a whole, possession bounced around much like the Haughton/St. Michael game with the ball mostly staying around midfield, we spent a little more time in the 18 yard box than they did, but could never finish the job. Teurlings had several nice break aways that should have put them on top, but our sweeper came and took care of it. The shots they had were quickly handled by our goalie.
Overtime is he**. During the first two ten minute halves, the game continued pretty much as in regulation. The two 5 minute golden goal periods, each team had at least one chance to win it outright, but couldn't capitolize (sp)
If overtime is he**, I can't describe PKs in a playoff situation with words!! We defended first. Their first shot slipped into the right corner just under the goalie's dive, our turn and we found our shooting feet and followed with a goal of our own. Teurlings number 2 kicker kicked to the same spot as number 1 with the same result, we came back and returned the favor. The third shooter tried a higher shot that was punched out by our goalie, our third shooter returned the favor and we are still tied. Teurlings 4th shooter manages a high shot that just manages to roll off the goalies fingers, our fourth shooter buries the ball, their 5th shot was to the left of the goalie and she almost had it, but it squiggled away, our 5th shot also found the back of the net. Tied 4 - 4 after 5, so now it is the goalie's turn to shoot. We had defended first in the first 5, so we got to shoot first this time. Amber buried a shot in the back of the net before the goalie hardly had time to react, then had to go back and defend. The Teurlings goalie got a good shot off to the bottom right, but this time goalie was there, took the ball in the chest and stomach, and wrapped around it. Realizing what she had done, she then jumped up, slammed the ball down and ran to get mobbed by the Lady Panthers!
We are looking forward to the game with St. Michael, it will be Saturday at 10:00 am in B.R.
