Tara Goalkeeper Lana Ashford will be attending Nicholls in the Fall. They desperately needs a second option as they went through last season with only one person capable of standing between the pipes. In Lana Coach Piper has found an outstanding goalkeeper to shore up that thin position (and challenge for the starting role).

Congratulations to Jasmine! We always enjoyed playing Neville, she is a great player and her dad is one of the nicest coaches you will ever meet.

My daughter was the freshman midlfielder (#13)who was up against Jasmine in the Neville-Loyola game. So I got to watch her the whole game. What a great player! And the Coach came over and sat with our girls as they watched the boys game. Very nice guy. Good luck in college!

Any other kids from lafayette / lake charles area? sweeper from st. louis? The sweeper is Melissa Minton. My favorite daughter. Before anyone gets their panties in a wad -- She is my only daughter. She is also a track and field athlete. She has had several offers for track. She participates in the heptathlon (7 events-- 100m hurdles, long jump, shot put, javelin, high jump, 800, 200). Last summer at the AAU Junior Olympics she placed 10th. Not to bad for practicing for about 2 1/2 months on 4 of the events that she had never competed in before. She is going back again this year better prepared and going for the gold. Although she can make an impact to any college track team she has made a decision to play soccer in college. She has made a decision as to which college she is attending but at this time we are waiting for confirmation from the coach and it is better to wait before putting it on a public forum until everything is complete.

Congrats to Alana Dehart (Vandebilt) and Sarah Damen (Terrebonne) for joining the 2008 signing class at Nicholls State. Both girls have had great high school careers and we all look forward to seeing them next year at Nicholls.
