I'm pretty sure a ref has never won or lost a game. They do not take shots or defend them. Think back to your previous games in the playoffs, how many 'no' calls went in your favor? did not see you write about those. As far as a loosely called game, it is the semifinals, if no advantage is gained (obvious advantage) don't you think the players should be allowed to dedcide the outcome?

I don't post to this site very often, but I feel it is necessary on a couple of fronts:
1) The game officials were from Lafayette and they called the game both ways.
2) The fan was removed by a faculty member of St. Michael at the center referee's request. He was said by the official to be using the "f-word" and was asked to leave for that reason. If he, or anyone else, thinks he was removed because of his race, ignorance abounds.
3) I thought the Parkway girls played an excellent game. Yes it was physical, but soccer IS a contact sport. When the fouls were over the top, the referees called the foul.
Overall, it was a great game and both teams played well. St. Michael got the victory from a big time score from a senior.
Good luck to the warriors in the final.

The game was loosely called for both teams. Calls could have been made either way on many plays, but didn't, and that's the way it goes. Their was a missed hand ball towards the end of the game against St. Mike's, but I'm sure there was a call that Parkway got lucky on too. As for the fan who was kicked out, he is a friend of my family's. He was in a large group of parents, who were all yelling at the offiicial, and none saying any foul language. After he was pointed out by the center official (why he was pointed out I don't know), he was soon kicked out. After he was kicked out, that is when he said the f-word. It's all over now, so there shouldn't be any fuss about it. Good game St. Mike's, good luck against Vandebilt.

Regarding the sideline antics, have witnessed this myself playing St Mikes. I would imagine this comes under home field advantage, plus girls should block any of that out. My crew always used it to focus even more.
And, main reason for post..........St Mike's coaching staff are top notch people and would never condone such shortcomings of rambunctious boys who are full of school spirit.
It's all part of the game. and not much removed from jeering opposing team during a PK or in a shootout.

fireman ,we do not use FIFA rules we use NFHS rules and the book states deliberatly handling, carrying, striking or propelling ball with hand or arm (12-2, A, B,C) if the players hands move from original position after ball is struck even if they are protecting themselves it is a hand ball.
