Your team played 55 minutes up 1 player due to the opposing team receiving a red card for a DGSO. The ensuing PK is missed by a teammate. Your coach makes adjustments and your team takes more than 10 quality shots after the send off, but you can't put a goal in. The other team gets a break away and their sole forward streaks 60 yards to score, and what a great goal it was. Your team loses 1-0 against a short sided team. Is there any doubt that it must be the referees fault that you lost? Yeah, I didn't think so...after all, when all else fails, just blame the guys in yellow (or blue, black, red, or green)

I hate to blow your mind, but SOMETIMES believe it or not just as coaches make decisions that cost their team a win officials do sway games one way or another which in deed result in losses. Unfortunately that is life, not done on purpose (by both persons) admit it and move on... The problem I see with 99% of responses (I have read) by refs. is they have that hollier then thou attitude. My ten years of coaching I thank God that I very rarely had the refs. with the attitudes I see on these message boards.... I have never seen so many pompass hypocrites in my life with the woes is me mentality!

I must agree they are so sensitive, but that is because their job is SO hard and the world is against them. They (officials) have to deal with ignorant parents and hot headed coaches...No other sport have to deal with that...LOL please be advised this was intended with HEAVY sarcasm!!! Why did you need to go back to a post that is nearly a year old to insult referees?

div1coach222, if you are sincere in helping make changes, Lafayette is offering a USSF referee class that begins January 16. Help us make a difference.

In reality, I don't know any official that claims to be infallible and hasn't admitted to making a mistake.

Tonight at the Northshore vs Caddo playoff game, offsides was called on a throw in. About midway into the first half, NHS takes a quick throw in deep into Caddo's box to a striker who was then 1v1 with the keeper. The AR pops his flag up for offsides and the CR stops play for the offside call taking away the 1v1 opportunity. The CR looks at the bench, points to himself saying "my fault". The fourth official also looks to us and nods saying, yep that one was a bad call. One would think that officials assigned to a playoff match would possibly talk about this at halftime to ensure they were all on the same page. Well, I guess they didn't. Deep into the second half, another quick throw into the Caddo box finds the NHS striker 1v1 with the keeper. The other Ar makes the same call of offside again taking away the opportunity. At this level, this is pathetic.
Caddo won the game 1-0 scoring a very nice goal with just over two minutes left in the second OT. Would the NHS strikers who were in the 1v1 situations have scored had the refs not blown this call, not once, but twice? Who knows. But we sure would have liked to find out.
If anyone from Caddo reads this, please don't take this as us making excuses. Your boys played a heck of a game and all of us from NHS wishes you the best of luck through the playoffs!

Sounds the referreeing in the Caddo vs. Northshore game was about the same quality as the Chelsea vs. Man U game today.
