As for district rivals having to play in the 2nd round...There are only TWO possible scenarios where this could happen. Covington/Mandy and Rummell/Bro Mart. That isn't too bad as far as I'm concerned in light of how bad past brackets have been.
Airline v. Captian Shreve is another

Isee St Amant is on the blowout list. I know we flirted with the top 10 all year, but that 6-0 over Acadiana just floors me. Acadiana has way more talent than we do. The experience will be great against such a good team, just hope we dont get embarrassed.

hey coachray don't let that 6-0 scare you. acadiana had a terrible game and lafayette had a lot to play for,(i'm not looking for an agrguement with H and mcsruff). acadaiana was not in a must win situation and lafayette was. look at what happened the next game both teams played. acadiana beat como 3-0, ( the only home loss for como all year) lafayette lost at home to a surging cro team.
all i am saying is anything can happen if lafayette overlooks your team (which they did against cro) your team will do well.
don't get me wrong i'm for lafayette and i think they will be in the finals again, (the team that scares me the most is cath. br). good luck to all teams and go dist 3.

The seniors at Catholic BR have spent 4 years working up to this play-off season. They want to play on February 26th, and with the individual talent (Reine, Winchell, and many others), depth of the bench (undefeated in district and a great overall record even with injured starters for many of the games), and attitude to win, I predict a Catholic/Jesuit final.

Yeah, I hope Lafayette and Catholic can make it to the quarters, because that is a game I am dying to see. This game would be in Lafayette.
Hey Goat, I think there are programs for people like you! You're in denial, man.
St. Amant, I doubt that LHS has anything against your team like they do against Acadiana.

Good thing McSruff--LHS is way too talented to have them holding a grudge--especially against a team like us with just rec players. When I saw that 6-0 I said--WOAH --hope we dont end up there in the playoffs. Sure enough here we are--lucky us.

i play for HLB and we think that is isnt right for us to play Jesuit 1st round... but u know there just isnt any reason to argue... we will just take this game and see what we can do... we hear stories bout Jesuit all the time but we r kind of excited to see how they really are...
its wierd... last year we were knocked out of the playoffs by Lafayette (state champs) this year we take on Jesuit (favorite for championship)... just unlucky draws is all we can say...
come out to this game... it should be fun....
P.S. i play goalie.. ill take it ill have a good bit of action 2morrow..

Destrehan hosts Rummel at 7 pm tonight (Friday). The reward for winning district is to host Rummel ... some reward. However, this could be the upset special, especially if the AR's apply the offside rule in Destrehan's favor. The key to this game may be the play of Destrehan's outside fullbacks and their keeper. Tizzard (D'han's central defender) has the speed to keep up with Rummel's forwards. If the outside defenders and the keeper come up big and keep them in the game, Destrehan has forwards capable of scoring on Rummel. Case in point are the games with Central Lafourche. Without their two forwards, Destrehan lost at home 4-1 or 4-2. With their two forwards, Destrehan beat Central Lafourche on a neutral field in a playoff 7 - 2. A huge swing in the result.
Add to this that two of Rummels players (one or both are defenders) are from Destrehan and play/have played club ball with many of the Destrehan players. I believe that Destrehan will be sky high for this came and will play with intensity. This should be a great game and I believe will be closer than most prognosticators have predicted.
