SSA 12 with a powerful free kick from 35 yards out, but the keeper is there with a clean catch. As expected SSA has upped the intensity. SSA 13 comes off the field with an injury.

LHS 12 with a nice run down the left, cuts insid to get the ball onto her right, gets a good shot off but the keeper is there.

SSA free kick from 45, but they couldn't get a shot.
Then a long ball bounces over the LHS keeper, off the crossbar, and out of play. 4 to go.

Yellow to LHS 9 as she fouls ssa during their counter. Ssa send the ball in, it bounces left but the cross goes out of play. Another LHS yellow card after a foul. Ssa send free kick in, heads it off the bar. Shot from point blank range blocked. LHS clears.
And there's the whistle! LHS wins.

Lafayette GK gets the MVP. Had to be either her or #22 IMO. Can't go wrong either way. She made a couple of fantastic saves late in the match.

Wow!!!! What a goal from LHS 22! Sweet 180 near midfield to befuddle a defender, then sprints into the open space and unleashes a long range effort just under the crossbar and over the keeper. Best goal I've seen all season. Second that, amazing shot!

Kevin, thanks for the commentary! I wasn't able to go and had to rely on your play by play for updates. Felt like I was there.

All the predictions of SSA beating us 4-1, 3-1, were an insult to our girls who had the talent to make it to the finals....hope you realize that any team that makes it to the finals deserves more respect than you gave to our team! Congrats to SSA on a great game that they fought till the end...

There's always going to be smacktalk. Sometimes there are going to be honest predictions of a 3-1 win, but it goes the other way. I don't think the unbiased predictions were trying to insult LHS. But hey, if you want to print them all out and hand them to the coach for bulletin board material, then so be it.

#22 is Arieal Alexander she's a Freshman Look forward to seeing her play another 3 years, she is a difference maker. Congratulations to Lafayette on the win! Great season SSA, you went down swinging. Several times during that frantic finish I thought we were headed to OT.

Sometimes the better team does not win. I am not sure why SSA's coach sat a few of his key players for so long - I know all are key players but I am referring to the Game Changers. SSA had a few set plays that had those players been in the game at that time it could have made a difference and score would've could've should've been 3-1 (yes I know Jim Mora). #22 for LHS had the best shot of all championship games played both boys and girls. That was an amazing goallllll!!

No surprise to me that Lafayette won the game. They were the best team I saw this year. Congrats Lafayette on a great season.
