Free kick for MHS from the far sideline at the corner of the 18. Ball is cleared by SPS but MHS hits it back to the SPS keeper. So far the SPS keeper has been working extremely hard but apparently it is their backup. 14 left Backup SPS keeper is a seasoned C1 keeper. He guest played with Baton Rouge U17 (now u18) in Decatur last spring so not a liability. The backline of SPS could put a scarecrow in goal and keep a clean sheet most games.

Sounds like a visual feast... why were the ridiculous "pajama white home team" rules not followed? I swear the NFHS board that passed that rule ought to be jailed.
The all-white home jerseys at the holiday cup were depressing, especially after the first muddy game of the day.
Over the 2 days I saw teams in white, blue, yellow, red, green, black, orange...saw a green v blue, red v blue, green v yellow, maroon v yellow...and seemed to have no impact on the referees ability to determine which team was home or away. heck, i even saw a playR&R in white socks with black tape, and a blue sock with white tape...and neither was cautioned! Oh, the horror!!

I stood next to the AHS fan side and did not hear anything out of the ordinary. Keep in mind AHS players and fans were out in the rain and cold or a bus/car all day while SPS had the bonus of being able to go home. Being wet and cold will make most people a bit ornery. Thank you sir! What are your thoughts about the play on the field? You're obviously completely impartial to both schools.

It seems everyone gangs up on Acadiana, but doesn't want to include how disrespectful the St Paul's stands were. When a player slips and falls on a slippery track the whole fan section of St. Paul's erupted in laughter. Also, they continually talked trash to the field players the whole game. It's funny you never hear this from recent posts. #bias

Most of the game as a whole was just awful to watch. The play on the field was good from both sides at times. The possession play from SPS was good, until they tried to hit it over the top every time the back line got the ball for the entire second half. Acadiana's strategy was simple. Get it to the best player on their side, #17. Unfortunately for them, the Wolves back line quickly notice that he had an amazing left foot but not much of a right. Once the first red card was shown, it all went down hill. The AHS players were consistently trying to fight with St Paul's players including the GK trying to fight the SPS coach for telling his own players to not talk! Also, every time there was a dirty foul that was an obvious card, they would congratulate each other, then question why it was a card. For all of those trying to defend the Acadiana side, keep in mind it's not always what happens in one game, but sometimes it is the reputation of the squad over a whole season (or multiple seasons at that). I congratulate SPS on the championship and wish AHS the best of luck in the future.

I was not at the game so I truly do not know how the atmosphere was or what exactly happened so my opinion would be worthless. But, I will say that if these two teams do face off again (I'm hoping they do) more people can focus on how great of a game it will be and just enjoy it. Congrats to SPS and to AHS for having a great tournament. Can't wait till playoffs. P.S. hats off to taking down Jesuit, I rather enjoyed reading that score.

If you read through the thread, you'll see a post from someone who was there and had "no dog in the fight". Truth be told, until the red card, it was an evenly matched game. AHS had a few more chances on goal early but both teams settled in. After the card, well....any team in the state would struggle playing short against the likes of SPS, AHS, Jesuit, catholic, brother martin, LHS - teams like that. Changes everything involving strategy and game play.

In my poor judgement I made the mistake of singling out some unfortunate events at the finals of this tournament when there were an overwhelming number of positives to be recognized The most memorable comment I heard was by a Beau Chene Dad when he said, in jest, the ref was handing SPS the game after a questionable call with SPS leading 5-0 and mins left. Now that's a guy enjoying the game and setting the example for good sportsmanship with humor. I tip my hat to this gentleman!
Looking forward to the 2014 St Paul's Invitational. Thanks to all the teams and supporters for participating in this wonderful tournament.

The Beau Chene Dad "Go Gators" was the #1 fan at the tourney. Funny and positive.

The only thing I would point out was that after a AHS player fouled an SPS player (yellow i believe but not positive) the AHS keeper yelled "he is gonna be feeling that tomorrow." The AHS keeper is talkative. I wonder if his banter with people off the field distracts his team. Other than that i thought AHS fought hard a man down and will be a factor in the playoffs. One yellow AHS picked up and mentioned here earlier was a horrible call. The SPS player that was fouled launched himself into a bigger player. Although he did not do much in the game, I thought #17 (Kade) was the fastest player i saw all weekend. Have to watch out for that kid.

Cold keeper comes off the bench and makes a great diving PK save. That was just great.

First let me say congrats the Acadiana Wreckin Rams for kicking Jesuits Bu$$ great win!! Ram fans, players, and coaches, are ALL passionate about their sports, all sports. They come to play and don't back down from anyone, it is just how it is. For the people complaining about how they acted against St Louis, lets just say there is a long history between all Lake Charles area schools and all Lafayette area schools in all sports. I could write a book about Lake Charles games in soccer football baseball with both sided having more than their fare share of assinine behavior.
Like Rams fans, players, and coaches?? Don't really care but you better come ready to play!!

Learning a new position on both sides.

That's OK I'm sure Rams fans, players, and coaches won't lose any sleep over your opinion. I'm honestly not for (or against) any one team. I'm a fan of good soccer and it's that simple. To me, so far what I have seen for AHS has been dirty play. Yes, they have skill and a great deal of it at that, which shows in games such as the Jesuit game which I also watched. The problem for Acadiana is when they play a team with the same skill level or a team that is better. They get frustrated. I don't "have it out" for the Rams at all. I respect the quality of skill that they have but I'm just against the dirty play.
