believe #10 is Hardy Hall for Shreve? Correct Good job by the young man, Congrats to St.Paul, Long ride home for Shreve, but a pretty good season, don't think they expected to go this far, well done.

Well it seems our strategy of trying to get St Paul's to wear out there shooting legs only lasted for 60 minutes
Shreve simply didnt have the troops to go toe to toe..held off the flood ... for awhile...a couple of uncharacteristic errors to give SPS the breathing room they needed but the only thing stopping SPS was SPS..still I think Shreve got a lot done with its squad this year..
I dont see anybody slowing down Wolves..including Jays
Ok time to put in in D....

Hey Jack, is St.Paul overrated? jk Shrevebstarted of playing nervous, but about 15 minutes in got past that and evened the score, tight at halftime. Don't know what halftime discussions were or what adjustments were made, but St. Paul's came out strong and never looked back. I believe Shreveport had only 3 or 4 times were they went deep into the wolves half in the 2nd half. I don't know if they are over rated or not, but they made some adjustments on the field and it was really 2 halfs. Have not seen Shreveport play this year so I don't know if i can say it was unexpected or not to win by 3. Cleanest game I've seen all year, only 2 fouls in the 2nd half, maybe 6-7 in 1st half. I know people were posting Shreveport had no expectation of winning and were just glad to be there..I certainly didn't see that from their players or coaches. Never let up.

St. Paul's plAyed a great game. Congrats to them. Parents all showed a lot of class. My feeling is they will win state.
I feel Shreve made a mistake by sitting back too deeply. You can't let a team like St. Paul's have that much time on the ball.
Shreve backline got exploited.
No shame in losing to a team like St. Paul's. parents were very friendly and congratulatory.

I agree with Happy that Shreve came to win and left everything on the pitch. The mids were forced to chase all game long and that took its toll. Shreve's playmakers could not influence the game and were worn down by the end of the game. Congrats to both teams on a well played and cleanly contested match. Good luck to Shreve in the future.

I was at the game and was not pulling for anyone. I read happyjack's reporting and it seemed very accurate to me. St Paul's dominated.

Happy jack you're really annoying and clearly biased. So either stop reporting or don't make it quite as obvious that you're for one team. I have no dog in this hunt. I'm sorry the results are not to your liking. Thanks for taking the time to report happyjack. Fair representation of the game. Bring on the Jays to Hunter Stadium. I expect an incredible home crowd.

Home...
Re: Happy reporting of the game
Pretty much dead on..
Shreve usually adept at finding and exploiting a hole or weak link in a team..problem with SPS is they ain't got one..
Knew going in we were going to get outpossessed outshot but game plan was to keep them outside box and shoot long range..SPS too skilled and too quick for us to lay back and absorb pressure all game long...but if we high pressure they just open us up down the middle...yeah we gave up a soft go ahead goal that really took the wind out of our sail but we weren't really generating much offense because SPS backline and goalie combined to minimize spaces we could exploit on counter..frankly our 12 field guys were gassed by mid second period...
We needed to play perfect and hope to capitalize on couple of miscues..they made one and we did to tie..we made a error to go down and when we threw an extra guy up after... thats when it got a little lopsided near the end..
I think this years SPS team is a real complete package...and if Jays play them straight up they are looking at a similar scoreline but closer game..only a physical team like Acadiana has a chance to disrupt SPS Rhythm and keep it close..
Im calling it SPS 3-1 over Jays
Grace King has a real shot at home against Rams
Tad Gormley is pretty narrow turf so if Rams go to final they might just bottle up SPS a bit..I think GK SPS matchup favors SPS strongly
Very proud of our merry band of overachievers this year..we had some lucky breaks during the season to keep an unblemished record caught a break with seeding that kept us off the U-12 fields in the playoffs but any honest observer could see that we were simply outclassed tonight... but we did make them pucker for 60 minutes...

Pretty sure Andrew Doughty got the goal for Shreve. thought #10 was Hardy? Maybe Jack mistakenly said #10

North LA shut out of final four once again. None since 2009, I don't know wether it's numbers, technique...etc. South LA just has more skillful players, attribute that to clubs or whatever but North LA have to find its a way into the mix. Maybe a middle school league is needed as suggested once by gottobefun? I don't see it happening next year neither. Perhaps the best chance is with Byrd in a couple of years at best.

There are around 14 U18 and 10 U17 club soccer teams in Louisiana currently. 2 in U18 and 0 in U17 are based north of I10/I12.

Amen: SPS basically is a U17-18 all star club team wearing high school colors. I am curious as to the class distribution in SPS starting 11 (and their top bench guys). I know Shreve was senior heavy in the back (GK and all back 4) but in attack we were going with 2 Sophomores 2 Juniors and 2 Seniors and our first off the bench was a Junior (Goree)

The roster consists mainly of juniors.
