Catholic -St Amant summary: good game early on with both teams trading possession and feeling each other out. CHS moved up and down the flanks very well, and gradually gained the advantage in midfield. Goal scoring opened in the 14th minute when CHS scored a nice shot from outside the box. Really felt like the STA goalkeeper should have had it, but it was hit well. Then came the 12 minute brainfreeze where CHS scored 2 more goals on mental lapses by the STA defenders and goalkeeper. Still, Gators weathered the storm, made a few changes and pulled one back on a nice shot by Sebastian Torrado 4 minutes before half. Halftime 3-1.
Second half opened up with still more changes by the Gators, who gained some momentum and played well, but another mental lapse at the 15 minute mark made the game 4-1. The match continued with play fairly even the rest of the way, and St Amant generated another Torrado goal with 10 minutes to play. Game ended 4-2.
Very high props to Catholic--they are the best team that I have seen this year. They have the combination of depth, speed, size, and tactical awareness that will make them a contender. BJ Reine from CHS is the best player that I have seen anywhere this year, and has to be a contender for Metro BTR player of the year. I would not write this team off because of the loss to Holy Cross, and they played like they had something to prove tonight. They play a very attractive game, and they play well together. Seemed like they subbed 6 or 7 guys in and out all night and had no drop off in level of play.
St Amant hung well except for a 15 minute stretch in the first half where the 3 goals got scored--just mental breakdowns. Second half was evenly played, but the hole dug early was too big to crawl out of. Sebastian Torrado (2 goals tonight, 16 on the season) had a strong game for St Amant, as did Zac Melancon.

Mandeville are certainly worth at least their 10th place.

As far as Bolton - ASH, it was a hard fought game the entire 80 minutes, but Bolton pulled through in the end... now we got Pineville on monday

Magnificent win for Slidell. I have praised Mandeville in the past, but they seemed to run out of steam in this game. Slidell pressured well and took more chances than their opponents, and that is the game of soccer.
