FYI... the word "elite" appears 27 times on that one page. Sigh...

I will be curious what clubs this will include. Is it the top 64 state based clubs? Do they include MLS and/or academy style teams? Louisiana doesn't have a top 64 club. Individual teams in the younger age groups from a LA Fire or BRSC are lucky to crack the top 150. I don't think LCSL can really compare. I do like they are very upfront about working around HS soccer. ECNL also allow their players to play HS soccer.

Anyone talked with LA TDP Elite staff about this and their thoughts?

The organizers of all these clubs and leagues have things figured out - just keep telling parents that their little baby had a chance to make it and they will keep pumping money into their pockets
Every 3-4 years, just change the name of the league using better superlatives to keep the next wave coming

Honestly, the kids that my son plays against in MLS Next are the same kids that he played against at ODP, Mid-South, and the higher end tournaments.

We can joke around and stick our noses up all we want, but these top leagues/teams do attract the top talent. LCSL teams can't compete with these teams.

US Soccer- A new “Elite” League every year! Can’t wait for “Elite 25” in 2023! Proof positive that the Federation is derelict

Y'all sound like you are talking about travel baseball? What "elite" leagues actually exist for soccer?
You had DA (ran by US Youth) and ECNL
DA folder at covid and became MLS Next.
Now you have MLS Next and ECNL.
What other leagues are there?

The way I understand this is the program is for an entire club not individual teams. I’m not sure how “elite” it will actually be if a team gets in because their entire club is in it and not based on the teams individual performance. This would mean that the NL PRO is still the top USYS league. I am not sure if MLS Next is under the USYS umbrella.

So what’s the latest on any Louisiana teams doing this? Rush Select South is part of the Elite 64. I don’t know all the details but seems like it would include the best players from Mississippi Rush United (Three Mississippi clubs) and Cajun Rush (two Louisiana clubs) to create a TDP type team to play in this league. It was just announced earlier this week.

So then the clubs that have a path to something like this now are in: Alexandria - Cajun Rush Alexandria -> Elite 64 Lafayette - Cajun Rush -> Elite 64 Lafayette - Dynamo -> MLS NEXT Baton Rouge - BRSC -> MLS NEXT New Orleans - LA Fire -> MLS NEXT

From what it sounds like, TDP is now accepting players regardless of where they play club. In theory, every kid in south Louisiana has a path if they earn it.
