may I ask what was questionable about that goal against St. Paul This should be good… It was off a free kick, that the referee had his back turned to the ball when it was taken. He was moving back the wall, and talking to defenders about the foul. The ball went in the goal, and bounced out. The St. Paul’s players didn’t know it went in, at least one thought it hit the post so he tried to finish the rebound and hit it wide. This is when the center noticed the ball was in play. He looked to the AR whom told him, the kick was taken and I think it went in the goal (it did) based on that, and him not seeing the action, he awarded the goal. St. Paul’s coaches apologized to DS coaches about the situation.

may I ask what was questionable about that goal against St. Paul First, the shot was an absolute banger, no doubt it hit that little triangle. That's not the questionable. With my purple and yellow glasses on, I question if there was even a foul to whistle, looked pretty clean to me, but I'm sure some will say yes even though all Denham and STP players started walking the other direction. Slow mo at end of clip looks pretty shoulder to shoulder to me. Next, you have players lined up over the ball stopping restart and then referee instructing them to move back. I'm not a ref and pretty ignorant to the rules, but I thought a whistle had to restart play once it got to this spot (a good example is during the Denham game when they stopped striker from scoring and ref gave a whistle restart). You can see keeper is setting up the wall and the offending player is still in an active discussion with center when the STP player seizes his opportunity. Again, some will say obvious foul and no whistle needed for restart (lesson learned, don't move from wall and make ref walk off 10), but some would call it "questionable" including a lot of feedback I received the days after the game. Props to STP for something stupid like close to 15 straight semi-final games and more championships than public school kids can count to.

Just because your players and your coach are screaming and complaining doesn’t stop play. And the ref goes to the AR to verify it went in. Now, was it a foul…ehh. Tough call for sure. But the goalie goes to the post to set up a wall before the guy asked for 10. He left the goal wide open. Great decision by St Paul kid.

It didn’t end up making a difference in the rankings anyway though

Details about the goal were requested, so I provided some. Please don’t elude to what you think, I am thinking.

But yeah, you weren’t claiming it was his fault at all. Sure.

Best performance by a keeper I have seen this year is by Walker’s keeper and I have watched all the top teams play.

Connor, Chachi & Brady top three. Saw a kid from down the bayou make some incredible saves and looked decent with his feet, had solid distribution as well. But only saw him once and can’t remember name or what school. fwiw, lots of pretty good keepers out there this year so not trying to stomp on anyone else (esp Jesuit & CHS keepers who don’t get tested much and are extremely solid) but these three are just top class imo

Noah Ellender is the best keeper in the state without a doubt He is by far one of the most forgotten keepers just because he plays in D3. His high-school careers trumps almost any other keepers
