St. Paul’s with a great chance from a cross from the left, but the striker whiffs and the follow up goes over the bar

Sps 10 shoots from 25 yards right side. But easily grabbed by keeper

Free kick for the wolves. Left side near the corner. Results in header just over the bar!

St Paul’s with a nice combination, but the forward is called for a handball while bringing the ball down.

Wolves get a bit cute defending in their box and it almost costs them, but the volley is blocked.

Spa 9 pushed down in box. No call. I thought the contact was light.

Wolves get a bit casual in the back and a pass is blocked out for a goal kick. Close call.

Wolves with more real chances in first half.
Wolves also hurt themselves many times with a big pet peeve of mine….lot of wishful throw ins to nobody or someone covered by 3 defenders resulting in turnovers. Throw the ball in to an open player’s feet to keep possession instead of wishing and hoping.

First Half Stats
Catholic BR 2 shots, 0 on goal, 1 blocked, 1 corner kick, 2 saves
St. Paul’s 6 shots, 2 on goal, 1 blocked, 2 corner kicks, 0 saves
I’d estimate possession around 55% in favor of St. Paul’s. Not many great scoring chances just yet, but the Wolves have definitely looked more dangerous. Catholic had the better of the first 10 minutes, then it seems the St. Paul’s midfield adjusted by playing a much higher line, and the Wolves have been the more dangerous team since.

St. Paul’s played more conservatively at first. Then I don’t know if Coach Moser told them to shift up or the players did it themselves, but the five in the midfield for the Wolves have done a good job. They aren’t giving the Catholic midfielders time and space to turn and they’re doing a good job winning 50-50 balls. The lone Wolf up top #10 is working hard and bringing his teammates into the attack.

Second half kickoff.
St. Paul’s will start with possession, attacking from left to right.
