Catholic 3 Woodlawn 0
Match dominated by Catholic. Catholic came out and scored in the 2nd minute of the match and created many more chances in the ensuing minutes, but did not finish anymore in the first half. Woodlawn created very few chances with their long ball style of play against Catholic's solid defense and could not create many opportunities for Dyer. The second half, also dominated by Catholic, started with a caution in the 56th minute (16th minute of half) for Jamie Hawk, followed by a second caution for Jamie Hawk in the 65th minute, taking Hawk out of the match, but leaving Woodlawn with 11 players still. Catholic sealed the match with two goals, one in the 71st minute and another in the 80th minute.

For curiosity sake (and I recognize there is a lot of soccer left to be played), what is the tie breaker after record and goal differential and head to head - ie If Dutchtown beats Catholic High on Saturday, both teams otherwise win out and the goal differential is even, how is the tie broken?

by the margin of victory in the 2 head to head games for the top 2 teams I would think.

Tie breakers are as follows:
1) head to head 2) Goal differential (max +/- 3 goals per game) 3) Overall goals against 4) playoff game--home site determined by a coinflip

Great game by Catholic and Dutchtown. I'm sure this one was a good one to be in the stands for.
Excellent intensity by Catholic early, but no goals. Dutchtown began to seize momentum in the latter part of the first half and netted two goals to take the 2-0 lead into the half.
Catholic picked up their intensity in the second half and created early opportunities. Several minutes into the second Catholic netted their first. That's when it got wild. TWO PKs were awarded and Catholic made both of them to win 3-2. The first PK was DEFINITELY a foul and deserved the call. The second one, I wasn't in the best position to see the play, but will assume the ref made the right call, because the ref is always on top of things and does a great job.
Great game by both teams....Dutchtown gives up NO PKs all year and has a couple in this game, just due to the nature of the INTENSENESS of the game.
Catholic should be commended for keeping themselves in the game MENTALLY and creating chances for themselves.
Congrats on the District Championship...even if it isn't "official" yet.
