well that may be true but soon it will be shown by stamant that they should get a few votes...as for now that is prob. true..but they are stepping up And when they step up, they will receive the votes, but for not I think they are not that top 10 team...

i wouldnt mind seeing stamant getting a vote after their win vs east ascension friday....not a ranking just a vote...we've still got a long way to go...but progress is being made At this point and time I don't think St. Amant deserves that vote. That vote would mean that someone would have to rank them in the top 10. At this point and time, I don't see them of that caliber. However, I do feel that they can compete with these teams. St. Amant is starting to click at what some people would call the right time... At this juncture, I think putmeincoach is right, and not just for St Amant, but for any team outside of the Top 10. In order to get a vote or votes, someone currently in the Top 10 would have to dropout. Who would that be?The top 10 has settled appropriately after the Showcase. Acadiana made a statement to jump up, and then promptly lost to Carencro..Shreve is 2 games back in their district right now, and despite the great record is still probably the consensus #11. Dutchtown has dropped the most lately, but look at who they had to play. Dtown could still be vulnerable to drop out after the St Pauls tournament with a game against Jesuit, but a good performance against the Blue Jays and 2 wins in their other games will keep them there. Rummel has lost a bit of their luster, but they still belong in the top 10, and wont lose any ground in the next few weeks with St Stanislaus, Holy Cross or Vandebilt on their schedule. I just dont see any real major changes the rest of the year in the D1 Top 10 except for maybe some in and out from Caddo, Shreve, and maybe Acadiana. Brother Martin, Rummel or Jesuit beating or losing to the others wont affect any of them enough to drop. Dutchtown and Catholic play each other Jan 3, but the loser there wont drop out unless they have a horrific week otherwise. End result here is this...dont worry about the polls. They wont mean a thing in 5 weeks when the playoffs start.

But, I agree with CoachRay, nothings going to change much until the playoffs. And at that point rankings don't matter a bit. When we do get to the playoffs, I do see some big shakeups happening. At this point and time I don't think St. Amant deserves that vote. That vote would mean that someone would have to rank them in the top 10. At this point and time, I don't see them of that caliber. So Cro beat Acadiana, and Acadiana beat Lafayette. Cro is ahead of the others in the district standing. I think Cro has to be rated higher in the top 10 than Lafayette now, at least until they play one another. Also, I think a whole new thread should be started on the phenomenon of power in the Lafayette area. My gosh - these three, St. Thomas More, and Teurlings. How did this area become so strong? Population-wise, isn't this area less populated than Baton Rouge and Shreveport/Bossier? What's the secret? Great coaches? Great clubs? Great organizational people? Questionable water supply? Key factors in the history leading up to the Lafayette-area current power base would be a great study for a community trying to ratchet up its soccer program. Lafayette has all the Coup de Grace

Key factors in the history leading up to the Lafayette-area current power base would be a great study for a community trying to ratchet up its soccer program. It all starts with a great REC program...starting at U5. At U7, the teams play 8v8 and compete for championships. This competitition helps keep the interest of good athletes (and parents). The REC program has a FALL & SPRING session...many kids play both. During the summer, the Soccer Academy of La (SAL) has a 6v6 league, which is open to kids thru U18 as well as an adult league. The premier teams have been very successful, usually fielding multiple teams in each age group, which exposes more kids to the high level of play and Professional Training. Last year several CSC teams won the Premier State Championship: U11 Elite, U12 Xtreme, U13 Pride, U14 Santos, U17 Fury, U18 Coup de Grace, and U11 Rage. Several other Finalists: U15 Fire, U15 Rage, and U18 Rage LFC (Lafayette Futbol Club) has also fielded many competitive teams, including the BURN, which competed very well at the Regional level.

CoachRay has it right. Being ranked just puts you on the radar screen (as a target) - bulletin board stuff is all it is. Stealthy is good.

Any love for Vandebilt after their strong performance in the St. Paul's tournament?

Caddo will move up to Number 4 or 5. Northshore should get some votes. Northshore probally won't get any love from me. I think you need more than one good weekend to knock some of the other teams out. While they had a decent showing, they haven't been doing so hott in district, and that is where it matters.

Any love for Vandebilt after their strong performance in the St. Paul's tournament? Vandy's hard schedule is starting to pay off for them. They will not knock STM off number one. They may overtake EA at 2.. They should over take St. Michael's.
