Is it just me or has this tourney steadily gone downhill in the past 10 years? I know Showcase has stolen some of it's thunder but this used to be the top of the top tournaments in the state. You had to be invited to play.
Now we have a tournament with 16 teams, of which only 5 (St. Paul, Fontainebleau, Bro. Martin, Jesuit, and Catholic, BR) are top teir teams. You can add in Caddo to the list instead of Catholic, BR probably. Really disappointing this year in my opinion.

hdkjga, who are they missing? Laf & STM never come over, Rummel has gone out of state twice and the showcase, and been blasted every single time. Shreve never comes this far. St Amant was in last year and dropped out with 2 days remaining. It's the usual suspects. Are you dissapointed that Ponchy couldn't get in? or josey at GK?
Who else should be in?

Any predictions for this tournament? To break bracket: St. Pauls Catholic BR Jesuit Brother Martin Jesuit to win it all... If jesuit plays Brother Martin, it could throw some tricks in there. Both teams might try and hold back since they havent faced each other in district yet...

Hubie never hold back. Remember the 19-0 he put on St Aug. And then St Aug dropped their program.

Hubie never hold back. Remember the 19-0 he put on St Aug. And then St Aug dropped their program. Wouldn't say that was the reason. They were beaten badly by almost everyone in the district, plus they were hit hard by the hurricane. I remember Holy Cross beat them pretty similarly as well (along with a few other teams), with Phil Gulliot giving up St. Aug's first goal (double digits-ish to one).

I wouldn't say that Jsuit owns everyone in this state. Myabe everywhere else, but they still have BM to play. Anyone who has participated in one of these games knows it's an epic battle. This year could be another 2000 season, where Jesuit lost like only two games all year, and both were to BM (once in reg. season, and one in the finals). It's ashame both of these teas have to play each other in the St. Paul's semis. In fact, this is the first time that I know of that both teams actually scheduled the same tourney pre-district. When it comes down to it, these teams really only want to play each other a minimal number of times because these fgames get so physical and emotional.

The Catholic bracket looks very competitive. They have tied Mandy and beaten Vandy 1-0. They don't score a lot (but 7-1 v CoachRay - what happened??), but they haven't given up more than 2 goals in any match. Prediction -- every game will be close, possibly 1-0 every game in this bracket.
