With Caddo's impressive run through St. Paul's tournament, earning a chance to play Jesuit, where they lost 5-0, partly due to having to play three games in one day, where do you think Caddo deserves to be ranked?
They are now 14-3-1
Caddo has lost to Sulphur (4-2), Captain Shreve (2-1), and Jesuit (5-0). Its tie was to St. Charles.
Its signature wins are against Captain Shreve (pks), St. Paul's (4-3), and Vandebilt (3-2).
So against good teams, they are 3-3. The tie to St. Charles surely hurts them.
I have them at #7.

Had St. Paul's beat them in bracket play, Caddo wouldn't be ranked this week.

My suggestion is that you don't rank them at all Timaeus. Or maybe just draw a number out of a hat and make them the number that you draw.
Have you ever seen them play, or have you just read about them on this forum?

That tie against St Charles was with bench players in 31 out of 35 minutes of the second half - just a strategic game management call by the coach because he knew there were up to two tough games to follow that day, and he knew his bench could contain St Charles which they did. St Charles' score came off a corner with less than 2 minutes to go. Also, St. Charles was no pushover in this tournament, playing BR and St. Paul to 1 goal losses.
This is not offered as an excuse, just putting the whole thing in perspective.

Had St. Paul's beat them in bracket play, Caddo wouldn't be ranked this week. But they didn't. And there are several Top 10 teams in my opinion that are 1 loss away from not being on this list. After Jesuit, arguments can be made for or against all of them. The difference between #2 and #10 is very little.

Having seen all these teams play, I can't imagine that Caddo could consistently beat Brother Martin, Lafayette, Acadiana, or Carencro. The above four, in my opinion, would win 7 or 8 out of 10 against Caddo.

Do you feel that any one of those four could win 7 or 8 out of 10 times against the other three? I saw Br Martin play at the St Paul Tourney and don't think they could beat any of the top teams 7 out of 10 times (maybe tie ;D ). Currently the other three are beating one another up about equally. Carencro is the only clean slate in district but has both district matches to play against Lafayette. I'd say all three might beat Caddo half the time at this point, but in the playoffs you just need one win against each.

With the current scenario, Caddo wouldn't have to see Lafayette or Br Martin until the finals. That leaves Cro in the quarters and Jesuit in the semis. Jesuit would be a huge upset, but Cro and Caddo met last year in the playoffs and played to a tie (Cro won with pks) with Caddo starting five freshmen in that game. I don't see a tie this year. And right now Cro seems to look stronger than Lafayette. With Br Martin, until they start actually winning a few I don't know what to think about them.

8 out of 10 games. I would put it the other way around except Lafayette which I have never seen play. However, Carencro, Acadiana and BM are very average teams and they could be beat not only by Caddo but many others also. Pay attention that 60% of Caddo starters are 15-16 year old players and sometimes that hurts them during tournaments or when they play the likes of Jesuit. It is like playing U16 v U18. Give these kids another year and you will see them run over anyone in LA. These year they can beat any team, any given day, but that depends on many things. My prediction is that they will win state at least once in the next 3 years.

I would be shocked if Caddo wins state within the next three years.

Most of the starting 11 have been playing club ball forever. And like pekia said they're mostly a U16 team this year. Maybe or maybe not this year, but when they're U17s and U18s it's going to be difficult to find a team with more experience and winning tradition. The clubs they play on are undefeated in league play this year. Why so shocking?

Caddo is young but getting better as the season goes on as seen by their results in the tournament. They are gaining confidence that they can get quality wins this year and that makes them a more dangerous team.
They lost a game to Sulphur early they definitely should have won, I think this is where they have improved. They did let St. Charles out with a tie at the St. Paul's tournament but that was after the coach had three subs on defense in the last minutes to get playing time knowing they would advance with a win or tie. They were down to St. Pauls and Vandebilt both by two goals and played through it and deserved both wins.
There seems to be a lot of parity in the top 10-12 teams but Caddo's two loses were both early and they now have four wins in a row against quality teams being Byrd, Shreve, St. Pauls and Vandebilt. It's certainly difficult to rank teams that haven't played each other but Caddo is where they are because of their most recent results.
It's a good showing for them based on their roster age: two seniors four juniors (includes the goalie) five sophmores one sophmore and two freshmen as the first subs.
Now they have to prove they deserve the ranking with big games coming up against Byrd and Shreve. District 1 has three teams this year that could pose problems in the playoffs and I expect one or two of them will make a decent run.

"There seems to be a lot of parity in the top 10-12"
This was meant to be with the obvious exception of Jesuit, the hands down favorite.....

Those who say Caddo should be unranked, how about u give us some ranking... Anyone can say a team should or shouldn't be ranked, but actually ranking them and backing ur standings is a different story...

Heres Caddo by the numbers:
Record: 14-3-1 Record vs 5A: 7-3-0 Record vs currently Ranked 5A opponents:1-1-0 Record vs Ranked opponents-any class: 3-1-0 Record in last 5 games: 3-1-1 Record of opponents in 14 wins: 98-103-11 Record of opponents in 3 losses: 39-12-5 Wins: 14--3rd highest in LA, 2nd highest in 5A Losses: 3--7th lowest in LA, 6th in 5A Goals for: 54-6th highest in LA, 2nd in 5A Goals against: 21-23rd lowest in LA
Intangibles: 8 shutouts, CMHS has played Airline 3 times this year(3-0) CMHS has not beaten Shreve this year in regulation, and has only scored 1 goal against Shreve in regulation, CMHS 2-0 in games decided after regulation.
Whats this mean: Caddo should indeed be ranked, but probably no higher than 5th or 6th.
Most telling things to me: 1)Caddo has only played 4 currently ranked teams this season in any class. Though results are good, is this enough? All the teams ranked above them are in the top 10 in wins, goals for and goals against. Caddo's 23rd in goals against. 2) Record against 5A teams is good, but remove the 3 games against Airline, and its a marginal 4-3. 3) Overall record of opponents in Caddos 14 wins is 98-103-11--very average.

Timaeus, I do hope that Caddo shocks you and the South of louisiana :-) . Why not? Time is due for a team from the North (Shreve or Caddo) to win State . Didn 't we shock you by beating St Paul's ? It was a fantastic match, may I add.
