I believe Div II principals vote to have the finals at one of the participating teams home field. As for the finals in Shreveport, lets show our support and try to get as many people as possible there.

I don't really know, but I think they play at the higher seed's home field. Last year it was played at EA. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I have a feeling a lot of money will be lost because of the location this year. Sure, parents and students and hardcore fans will go all the way up there, but people like me, or casual high school soccer watchers will laugh at making a 4 hour trip to see those games. When it was in New Orleans or Lafayette, I'd go just to see the game, even if I wasn't a fan of either team.
The teams in the finals most likely won't come from anywhere near Shreve, so there definitely will be a good number of family and students that will opt out of going.

The final for DII was played at EA, but I think it was because they were on the bottom of the bracket.

That's how it's always been for some reason. I'm not too sure of the exact reason why. Somebody must know.

That's how it's always been for some reason. I'm not too sure of the exact reason why. Somebody must know. I had heard the reasoning behind it was the sponsor of DII is different than DI & DIII. DII sponsor doesnt care where the game is played so it was played at the home field. While DI and DIII is bid on and the highest bidder chooses, and Shreveport won the bid for the next two years if I am not mistaken. This is what I heard dont know the truth behind it.

We need to wait and see if the finals in Shreveport will be less or more successful than the ones in South LA. Who knows what may happen but there are a lots of soccer fans in that area, not to mention that CABOSA have about 2000 players and it is the third largest soccer organization in the state. With some advertisement and publicity there might be a few thousand fans attending the finals. Or, imagine the unthinkable for many soccer profesors- a local team makes it. On the other hand all the soccer people from North Lousiana deserve this, after so many trips to the south, spending a lots of money and time for the club travel. At the end, Indy is the best, great field and surface, 120 by 70 yards and Shreveport is not a bad city either. Who knows but my bet is the the people who make the trip will like it. We will find out in a six weeks, everything else is speculations.

Last year when the Finals were held in Shreveport, the attendance was way down compared to seasons past, if I recall correctly.

We need to wait and see if the finals in Shreveport will be less or more successful than the ones in South LA. What makes for a successful event? In a 50,000 seat stadium, we could have 5000 people there and the place will still seem empty. We will do our best to take care of the teams that come up here. Winners will go home happy. Losers won't. Indy is a great place to play and watch a match. Hope we get lots of visitors from South Louisiana.

I'm of the opinion that the finals should be in either Lafayette or Baton Rouge every year. Those are most central, and have fine facilities.
