STM 4-0, the turf suits them better and they have a MUCH better team this year then last year. They want revenge from last year too, good luck to both teams.

Thanx for the info shhssoccer19. As long as the turf is not really short it should be fine. The problem with short turf is that it really hurts to slide. Last year we played West Monroe on their turf. One of their guys slid and they got up bleeding, so they had to be sent off.

I think last year we played West Monroe on a different field, the year BEFORE we played them on turf...

it will be a hard fought game for ASH, but i think they have what it takes to make it difficult for STM.

ASH will keep this one close but STM moves the ball very well on their turf. I say STM by 2 goals.

STM overlooked ASH last year and paid for it (they were looking ahead to Vandy). STM is a different team this year with different coach and different style. The turf takes a while to get used to at 'game' speed, so I say STM 3 - 1.

Although an ASH fan I can see STM winning this one easily.

Everyone knows that STM has a great program and they have played very well this season but having seen ASH several times this year, I think they will do better than a lot of people think. Will they win win? I think they can but don't know if they will. ASH's game is very well suited to a fast, possession type environment. Their struggle with Leesville were due mainly to, of course a much improved Leesville team, but also the condition of the field. Beating Pineville twice this season means that physically they are capable, Pineville is very physical and fast. It will not be that big of a surprise to me if they win. But anytime you play a team like STM you'd better bring your "A" game.

Yes ASH do try to play a possession game but fast, I really don't think so. It is speed which lets ASH down as there is no real injection of pace in their team. Against opponents in our district it really doesn't show up much but against the teams from the south I think it will. It will be like watching an MLS game and then a Premier League game - big difference.

My comment about ASH's speed was directed more toward the pace at which they move the ball not so much about outright foot speed. And, no doubt, they will need to play at a higher level now than in district but everyone in the play-offs needs to do that. With the type of game they are comfortable playing and playing that "type" of game on a fast surface, I think they have the ability to win. STM is going to be very tough to beat, but ASH is capable.

I think it will be a really exciting game maybe one of the best games all year. I am probably going to go and watch it. I truly believe that the best team will win this game.
