ASH wins. STM wasnt capable of playing or something. just heard the news from an ASH starter. so its either ASH vs Parkway or ASH vs Lee. i would of loved to see the ASH and STM showdown though.

It is true. STM had an inelligible player. That makes this year's playoffs easier for us. I kind of wanted to play STM though.

Me too. I was looking forward to playing a quality team that would prepare us for the rest of the playoffs.

Uh, Im afraid IF this game was played, it would have prepared you for the OFFSEASON, not the rest of the playoffs. And, I'm not trying to be rude or sarcastic, but, ASH can't play with STM...Sorry

Fortunately, for ASH, you didn't have to play STM and now get a chance to move past regionals.

i go to stm and yes its true and its a load of LSU is great for a player who rarely played to disqualify us from the playoffs. We were the number 1 team no ifs ands or buts and it was our year and we were at the peak of our game playing our best game to date probably against sam houston. A player on the Varsity roster turned in a fraudulent report card and therefor made him ineglible in any game he played in which forfeited everygame he played in. We were told this today during lunch and i think every player on our team broke down into tears...honestly i want to say take a look at this rule because a player who does not make a difference shouldnt make the team suffer and end the careers of the seniors. Same thing goes for lhs last year. Idk what to say i feel i was robbed of a chance to finish the season and get a state championship. We also fielded a team 5 times better than last years team so no u would not have been preparing for the rest of the playoffs...u dont know how bad we wanted to play yall

ya i deffinetly dont think stm could beat ash 6-0, although it would be extremely difficult ash could pull out with a win although the odds were against them

yeah we relize how bad you wanted to play us, we did too, we have a whole new team from last year and wanted to show what we had it would of been a tough game and in no way a shutout. im sorry though, it sucks to have to lose your senoir year to an inilegibal player. so, sorry it had to end out liek this.

Hmmm, I think if you pulled up last year's STM v. ASH thread, you'd see the same predictions. I would hate to be the kid who turned in the fake report card. A few years ago the ASH girls had a player with a bad report card that caused them to forfeit some games, but that was before the playoffs, fortunately.

We also fielded a team 5 times better than last years team so no u would not have been preparing for the rest of the playoffs...u dont know how bad we wanted to play yall Once again a very disappointing situation, but I dont agree that is it is an absurd ruling. EVERY SCHOOL in LA has to do the required paperwork that guarantees eligibility. As a coach, I can tell you this takes an inordinate amount of time, but it has to be done, verified and made sure to be correct. Every coach, CECP or faculty, knows this and know what to do. There is no excuse for not knowing a players grades, or for paperwork not being done and verified. I am not a faculty member, so I actually have to take a day off of work to go to St Amant to verify my players eligibility--TWICE(once preseason, once at the semester break). I have to do it, its a pain in my buttocks, but it has to be done and I know what to do--as does my athletic department, so how did this happen? Once again, we have outrage at LHSAA, but why not be upset at the player who "handed in a fradulent report card." Regardless of his contribution, he endangered the eligibility of the rest of the team--not LHSAA. These are the rules we ALL PLAY BY, and dont get excused just because your team is ranked #1. Was it an honest mistake, or a direct effort to deceive? This must have happened at the semester break, and just now somebody is catching it? Along with that, after all that happened IN LAFAYETTE last year, wouldn't you think that Lafayette area schools would be the first ones to make sure their house was in order? This is the second issue of removed eligibility this year--Sulphur was hammered earlier for having 2 ineligible students, and their coach was fired. All of these unfortunate occurances--Lafayette last year, STM and Sulphur this year--could have been avoided if folks had taken more time to do paperwork correctly, and been willing to remove participants if they werent eligible. I am very sorry for the STM players that wont get to play(as well as the Sulphur players who also got their season ruined), but I have no sympathy for those who dont follow the same set of guidelines that the rest of the state is expected to. I hope that this all wasnt spurred by individuals desire to win over playing by the rules.
