It was verified by the coach and by the athletic director and due to a red flag that was brought up yesterday it was investigated into the night by stm then reported to the lhsaa so we werent tryin to get around it, otherwise we wouldnt have reported it. and to answer ur question are we mad at the player who turned in the report car, lets put it this way if any of our players see him ever again it wont be pretty.

If Sam Houston gets a second chance, and beats Alexandria, then those who voted "both teams will lose" in the poll at the beginning of this thread will have been right .

How does one "turn in" a fraudulent report card anyway? Doesn't the school have their own records of report cards on computer some where? Did he hack into the schools database and change his grades??? I doubt it. All those report cards, if left up to the students to be turned in to the coaches, should have been verified with official school records.

Not smart to imply retribution in an open form. Now that you openly have done that and ANYTHING happens to him, guess who is on the top of the list for questioning? This is a time to use one of the attributes that sports supposedly teach... character.
Actually, if you or any of your team mates, if he is indeed guilty of those items he may have done, ever play soccer with this person again at any level, shame on you. You can forgive the sinner, but do not forget the sin.

"All of these unfortunate occurances--Lafayette last year, STM and Sulphur this year--could have been avoided if folks had taken more time to do paperwork correctly, and been willing to remove participants if they werent eligible. I am very sorry for the STM players that wont get to play(as well as the Sulphur players who also got their season ruined), but I have no sympathy for those who dont follow the same set of guidelines that the rest of the state is expected to. I hope that this all wasnt spurred by individuals desire to win over playing by the rules. "
Can't agree with you more Coach. This is an inexcusable event. My son and all of his teammates (save 1) are crushed. These boys worked so hard. This was a special team. But rules are rules and this one should have easily been met by a proper procedure to verify grades. I feel bad for the kids and SHHS as well.
The kid cut and pasted his report card and no one caught the forgery. The misdeed was discovered by STM and reported by STM to LHSAA. Even though the school doesn't have a verification policy, they do have class in turning themselves in. No way LHSAA or anyone else for that matter would have none. The sad part is the kid played sparingly and had no impact on the SHHS game. By the time he got on the field the score was 4 or 5 -0. He did not score in the game.
The kid has cost STM a legitimate shot at State title. A 17th Straight District Championship. And for some players, probably a shot at being on the All-State team (which at least 5 would have easily been candidates).
It matters not who would have won had ASH and STM played. It would make no sense to scrimage as ASH has to prepare for their title run. Lee looks to be very tough. For you student posters, the lesson is simple. DO NOT CHEAT IN LIFE, WHEN YOU DO YOU LOSE! IF YOU BUILD GOOD MORAL VALUES, YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO CHEAT. YOU WILL SUCEED THE OLD FASHION WAY, BY EARNING IT!

THIS JUST IN!!!! STM is challenging whoever wins the state title in DII to a game to see if this so called "state champ" is even worthy of tieing STM's shoe laces!
