St. Fredericks (15-2) and University (13-5-8) face off in regional playoffs at St. Fredericks on Thursday 6 PM. St. Fredericks schedule seemed weak playing weak teams but still blowing them all out. While University's record is the worst in the last 4 years but still playing against good competition against teams like STM, EA, Brother Martin, Episcopal, Dutchtown, STA and Catholic High. Both teams played DeRidder, St. Fredericks losing 1-0 while University getting blown out 6-0. University is use to playing against playoff caliber teams while St. Fredericks may not. How do y'all think this game will turn out?

U high 2-1 because St . Freds hasn't played anyone that difficult. Just look at University's schedule.

University is in a 12-game non-losing streak (8 wins, 4 ties). The last time they lost was 12/16 before they changed their defensive strategy (both formation and personnel). St. Fred. will control ball possession, as did Catholic, St. Thomas Aquinas, Dutchtown, St. Amant, and St. Thomas More. The UHS defense bends but does not break easily. These five games all ended in ties. Still, St. Fred's wonder kid from Germany will probably score a goal like Episcopal's Carter Blanche did in their first matchup vs. UHS. The question is how many goals UHS can score. In the above five games, UHS scored 2, 2, 2, 1, and 0. Thus, I'd say 2-1 University, quite possibly in overtime. Oh, by the way, if the game ever becomes lopsided, it'll be by St. Fred. UHS's five losses were all shut-out, 0-6, 0-5, 0-3, 0-2, and 0-1.

having played both of them i think universtiy is stronger. we took st. freds lightly in the rebel cup n they almost beat us. so u-high dont take them lightly. either university was extrmely tired in the showcase or they took us lightly as well--and got beat 6-0. good luck to both teams!
prediction: University 3-1 St. Fred's.

I'm not gonna lie, they were pretty tired. but that's still no excuse for losing 6-0 for a team that played just as many games that day.

DeRidder beat St. Freds 2-1 and demolished UHS 6-0 and you still think University is stronger. This is very interesting and helpful, since DeRidder is the only common opponent this season. Thanks for your insight.

Malte (The German) scored six goals on Pineville. Pineville beat Deridder earlier in the year. Deridder beat University 6 - 0. St. Freds wins 3 or 4 to 2, Malte having all the goals...

The German kid is a good player. He is smart and tall and can head the ball pretty well. Oscar Giron is a much better player. Oscar is faster and better with the ball and a harder kick. St. Freds is solid in other positions and you can't focus on just Malte or you will get burned by the other players. Having played all these teams, I moght give the edge to Univ. They are more solid all around while St Freds defense might have trouble with Univ. It should be a close game, either team capable of winning.
