Showed up to the game a bit late. Jesuit dominated the the latter 30 or so minutes of the opening period. A Jesuit supporter told me the game was even in the opening minutes with both teams a bit tight. Jesuit had several scoring opportunities and controlled the midfield from what I saw. Jesuit's score was in the last ten minutes of the half. Jesuit player took the ball high and on the right edge of the box, recieved, controlled, spun and shot all in one motion. It was not the most powerful shot, but it was an impressive display of individual skills. Brother Martin did not defend well in the first half, but held on until the break.
Second half was a different story. Brother Martin did benefit from a slight shift in wind direction and kept pressure on Jesuit through most of the second half. Jesuit tried to take back the middle third in the second half, but eventually became content with the counter attack. Brother Martin played courageously, but Jesuit's defense was just too stout.
Game became a bit chippy in the last 25 minutes with several warnings, a few yellow cards, but no ejections. Jesuit got the insurance goal with about five minutes remaining. So, the better team moves on to the semi-finals. At the same time, Brother Martin represented themselves and their school well tonight. They have every reason proud of this year's campaign.

The two goals in this game were impressive to me. Cabos with the control turn and accuracy. Little Mullins with the calmness in the box off the long ball then just heading it over andre. Jesuit seemed the more dominant force but honestly, i thought Brother Martin was going to come back and score. I believe they hit crossbar on one occasion, several shots, free kicks, and the wind with them. i think the wind played a big factor in this game. first half was with jesuit and jesuit came hard at bro martin. Then second half Bro Martins onslaught but to no success.
Was a great game, high energy, big crowd, fast paced rivalry and thats why it seemed so sloppy

the ref's don't get recognized unless something goes wrong huh? i've been watching this board for 6 years now (since it was matt parker fan club) and i have never needed an account (you used to not need an account to post replies). but i felt it was only right to start an account so i could say that the refs for this game did a remarkable job. an extremely intense match with major title implications where the refs allowed the players to determine the outcome while keeping the players safe. good job guys

There were two occasions where a Brother Martin player was tripped in the penalty box during the second half, and we should have been awarded a pk. The head official who called the game normally is very good, but I thought he was a little one sided. ( To many calls in Jesuit's favor) I'm not crying over spilled milk, I can admitt Jesuit was the better team. Jesuit could have had easily 2 goals in the first half. My prediction is Jesuit will win 3-0 over Carencro.

I thought the Jesuit-Brother Martin game was well-officiated. Both teams had their share of calls against them--the referee did not call a "one-sided" game. Both teams played hard--I just wish that these two teams could have played in the final in Shreveport--maybe next year LHSAA will do a better job with the brackets.
