i can see where you are coming from based on records. but schedules need to be factored in, and in my opinion vandy has played much tougher teams so far

plus those power rankings aren't too accurate, i mean...even south terrebonne is above vandy on them

The power rankings is what I put most stock in--gives us a look at results rather than schedule or record. I agree Vandy has played a tougher schedule, but lets look at it closer:
3 wins: Ed White, Catholic-NI, Bro Martin. First two dont really say much, third is quality, but came in PKS.
2 losses: both to St Pauls, though the second one was closer(at home)
2 draws: Catholic-BR -quality result, and Teurlings--so they didnt beat them.
Teurlings gets more of a power rating because they have won more--they have been rewarded for winning. Vandy on the other hand has lost or drawn games. What does this mean? Nothing now, other than if you asked me who i thought would win if these two teams played each other, I would pick Teurlings. That and 25 cents doesnt buy me tomorrows newspaper.

The top 2 teams in D1, are clearly Jesuit and STM. If you are putting STM below 2) Acadiana 3) Fontainebleau 4) St Pauls 5) Rummel
then I am dissapointed in you.

buttt we should also break down teurlings:
4 wins: Thibodaux, Carencro, Carencro JV, NISH- first one doesnt say c***, next three (especially cro JV) arent too convincing.
1 draw: Vandy- i think they are pretty evenly matched with teurlings and the score proves it, but i dont know if they should jump vandy in the ranks
so bottom line...i think vandy's 2 draws against good teams and 2 (very close) losses against st.pauls arent as bad as they sound. give 'em more credit. plus the power rankings are based on records, gives points for wins, losses, ties and adds them

I love all of the reasoning for top rankings this early in the season. It seems as though you can make an argument in most cases. We all know rankings will shake out with time. With that being said all teams should fall behind Jesuit and STM un-arguably (although I am sure someone will). I had a chance to see these two teams play last week along with some others in the Dutchtown Tournament. WOW, you talk about some great soccer. Unfortunately they played abbreviated halves due to the tournament. Congrats to Dutchtown for organizing an extremely competitive tournament.

I'm not voting anymore but was surprised to see St. Amant in the top 10 and Rummel out. Might help if someone would post results next to each of the top 10 teams like last year.

I don't understand how people rank STM in 2nd when they lost to Jesuit 1-0 and Acadiana tied Jesuit 0-0...

Jesuit had a ton of chances against both teams, I think if STM and Acadiana played each other right now it would be pretty evenly matched.

Obvioiusly, the biggest mistake I see in the DI poll is Rummel. I don't care how "ugly" or "dominating" their wins were. If they made it to the finals of the Bayou Invitational they deffinately deserve atleast a top 10 spot.
As for DII, I think it's absolutely rediculous to see St. Michaels ranked #3. I know DII isn't the strongest division but St. Michaels? 0-5-1...
DIII poll looks pretty decent.
