I like ShreveDads idea of putting the results back by the teams in the polls

i think STM and Jesuit are the best and i think STM will be better when their football gets back, they are missing a solid forward... but i hear STM dominated first half and Jesuit dominated 2nd.... and Acadiana is really good, but just a notch below them.

I like ShreveDads idea of putting the results back by the teams in the polls the only problem is finding the time to do so, it is not always easy to do so.

Might help if someone would post results next to each of the top 10 teams like last year. Here, here. I think most agree that these polls are more for entertainment than anything else but some of the selections can only be attributed to a failure to simply review recent results.

Yeah I think a lot of people don't realize the time that goes in to doing things for this site including CoachRays Results thread, Flat3's power rankings, and of course the weekly poll

I can't believe Rummel wasn't atleast top 5 after their victories this weekend. They had quality wins against StA, University, and East Ascension with a good tie with CS. I think Capt Shreve should have received more votes but they aren't top 10 in my opinion from what I've heard. Also Lafayette is a good team but I think it was right to leave them out

You should be able to, give it a try. No, I can't. You can do that because you are a moderator.

The main difference between EA this year and last year is maturity... EA lost one senior last year - they have now a strong class of seniors with some solid juniors and sophomores! They know that they have nothing to lose and just play like a bunch of friends...

I'd be surprised if any team named Catholic of anything was a public school.

i was just wondering how many of the teams in the top ten are public schools? For Div I looks like half - Acadiana, Fontainebleau, EA, St Amant, and Caddo. Fontainebleau is the largest with about 2300 enrollment with EA and Caddo the smallest at a little over 1100 each. (These are 2006 numbers.)

Catholic - BR is a private school.
Curious about the poll: Catholic beat Fontainebleau and EA in scrimmages but is ranked below them at this early point in the season?
It seems to me that a lot of teams get ranked according to geographic location and tradition.
I watched many games this weekend at Dutchtown's tournament (great job by the way Pitch) and found the soccer to be very mediocre and slow. The skill on certain teams was good, but the build up was slow and methodical. I would love the teams with skill to play with better pace and be a little more direct (not long ball, but forward movement).
Force the issue a little more, it sure would be a lot more fun to watch as opposed to seeing marking backs swing the ball over and over again. And please don't tell me you are "switching the point of attack". There actually has to be attack for it to work.
I love LA high school soccer and the quality across the board has gotten much better, but the elite teams don't seem to be as good as the 90's and early 2000's.
Keep working hard and I look forward to seeing some good mid season tournaments.

boomboom didn't jesuit and acadiana tie 0-0. and didn't jesuit beat STM 1-0. That tells me acadiana should be ranked ahead of stm at this time. Ray got it right in his poll. hats off to ray good job coach.
