all LHS starters except goalie sat bench for 1/2 of the first half. Lots of shots from LHS on goal none went in. Not the best game. Not alot of ball control going on. Goalies did well.

lhs dominated nish out shooting them about 20 to 5. nish just packed the box and caused a lot of corner kicks for lhs. lhs hit the cross bar 2 times and missed a lot of great opportunities of a wide open shot. lhs just could not finish the goal. it wet into sudden death pks and nish just came out on top. possession wise, lhs dominated the game.

Lafayette had 27 shots on goal, 7 in overtime and NISH had 14, 3 in overtime. Lafayette goalie Ryan Brumley had 9 saves, 2 in OT and Justin Hebert had 14 with 5 in OT. Shootouts finished 6-5. Lafayette had 2 goal kicks all game and NISH 16, which, along with 14 saves, shows where the shots were going: either over the endline or into the goalie's arms.

Results like this have a way of coming back to haunt you. LHS is in a smaller district this year with just 8 district games--dropping a game unexpectedly always causes problems.
What was the reason for the starters being benched early? We've heard about that type of thing going on statewide this year (Jesuit, Terrebonne, now LHS).

Coach for LHS even had Freshmen playing in game. I think he underestimated NISH. Not a good start for LHS.

I went back and looked at the games the lions have played this year and with the exception of the madiville game the lions haven't scored many goals!! I am not suprised about the low score in the nish game because everyone knows nish packs the box and hopes for the very results it got last night. Ray brings up a great point lafayette is in a very small district this year and a early loss against one of the lower teams in that district is not good. I can see kurt and the cro team licking there chops over this and I know it will help build confidence over at cro.
lafayette better get there you know what together or this may be a short season!

Well I will say this, NISH plays Carencro next week. I am going to go out on a ledge and say the winner of that game wins that district.....Anyone agree or disagree?

lhs needs forwards bad they don't hustle up top a lot of standing around nobody to pass to or following the shots hard to score like that

i disagree bigsoccerfan. i don't think cro is real good this year and I think lafayette has the best talent. nish seems to always get one key win with there packing the box style of play but they won't win many games doing that. if they try and play cro or lafayette head up they lose big. i still think it will be lafayette then cro in that order and the reat will fight it out for 3rd.

Talent if put in the right position could make a big difference. LHS needs to score!!!!!!!

I think it's a confidence issue right now with LHS. I heard the coach benched every starter for half the game, to send a message that no spot is guaranteed. This might be a wakeup call for LHS.
