The best goalies that i know of are Tyler Milton from St. Pauls (even after knee surgery i think he can bounce back), David Whinchell from BR Catholic(sorry if the name is wrong), Jared Bonin from Fontainebleau, and the Captain Shreve goalie Jeremy ? (sorry Jeremy forgot ur last name, i thought he gave up soccer and is now playing football) other than that i have not seen any other goalies that are worth talking bout.

Catholic-BR's keeper David Winchell is def. a great goalie but at least in the district play I saw last year Catholic's defense kept him from having to make too many big saves. seeing him play in a game (like the acadiana playoff) with a lot of shots is great to watch.

Winchell is definatly a first class keep. It helps when your 6'6 lol... I believe he is going to Colorado to play Division I for them after the graduation

Posted by: futbolfanatic teurlings catholic- ray savoie- great keeper, one of the best i've seen in a while. only a soph. so has 2 more years to shine!
Teurlings Catholic's keeper Ray Savoie is a very good keeper. I wouldnt say he is great b/c he still has things to learn. If he would grow alittle it would help alot but he makes up for it with his heart in the net. He still has plenty of time to get better but he also needs a defence around him and from the looks of the TCH v. U-High game he didnt have much.

Played NISH in the Viking tourney, their goalie was good but I agree that he did not seem to have the support he needed from his defense (their sweeper was good). Wouldn't know about the Lafayette goalkeeper since I think he touched the ball once in our game against him. Although I am assuming that he has a great defense in front of him. (we really never got that far down the field I think that a good defense can make a mediocre goalie look like a great goalie, and a horrible defense can make a great goalie look mediocre. I agree with goaliesrock, the keeper can be the worst position. If a team wins a game you hear all about the kids that scored the goals but if a team loses the goalie is usually to blame.

O.J. Simmons for Ruston is a very good keeper. he started playing his freshamn year and has practically mastered the position, he is very quick and is very good in the air, hes not afraid to come out, he has many of times destroyed a forward that was running onto a through ball with out causing a foul. hes a tough player!

In our district the only keeper I can remember from last year was ASH's. He kept them in the STM game. But I'm not sure if he's still there. Anybody?

Neville had a strong goalie last year but I have not heard anything on him this year. Maybe he quit

I would have to agree about O.J. Simmons from Ruston. He is the best keeper I have ever seen when it comes to reaction time. Again, he is completely fearless and is one of the best keepers I have seen when it comes to grabbing a ball in the air.

If you believe the Ruston keeper is the best you have seen, then you need to get out more.
Best I've seen so far. 1) Capt. Shreve 2) Barbe 3) Comeaux 4) Catholic BR

John Boatner is Comeauxs goalie and he is WHO DAT good too. He is one of the many reasons Comeaux is beating everyone this year including Lafayette High and everyone else in their district also, ooo and Lafayete beat Comeauxs JV in the tourny.

Jeremy definitely has the market cornered on being the keeper in this part of the state. I have talked to a few coaches about the Ruston keeper, and they say he is very quick and talented, but still very raw. Chris Beason at Magnet would probably be next in my book up here, and then Brennan Kirkpatrick at Airline, only a sophmore, is really stepping up big. He still lacks mental focus from time to time, but the skills are definitely in place.

I think that john Boatner is the best! When chs has breakdown on defense Boatner is there to make the solid save and to keep comeaux players alive and excited. Of course wen u play Acadiana or Laff som are gunna get past you but i was there and seen the saves he made to make it possible to keep comeaux in the game.

Slidell keeper Ryan Conn is a sophomore playing in a tough district. He is young and improving and had to play behind a faltering defense. In a year or two, he will definately be one to watch

I have to agree with WiN oN tHrEe about OC's keeper. He is very good for his first year starting at the goalie position.
