What was the outcome of the St. Joes game versus STM?? I left at halftime with score knotted at 0-0. First half was very competitive.

STM 2 - SJA 0
2 goals by STM were free kicks, one of which was a bad call made by the ref.
Good game by both teams. STM had speed and passing skills. Great defense by SJA. SJA is improving with each game played.

Would be nice to have more reporting on SJA, BRHS, Central, and Walker to see how teams are doing. STA, D-Town, Woodlawn seem to be well represented. If you know someone from these schools, get them to get involved.

SJA plays UHIGH on Tuesday at 6:00. After that they go to MS to play in the Ridgeland Tournament (Both JV and V). Mt. Carmel the following week, and then a district opener with St. Amant. I will try to post final scores / who scored / short game details after each unless someone who attends puts up accurate information first!

Woodlawn's performance in the Bayou Classic Tournament in Hahnville was somewhat disappointing. Despite playing fairly strong games in their first two games, the ability to score or should I say the inability ( and there were ample chances) caused two ties. In the final game with McGehee of New Orleans two first half scores with again an unability to score proved the downfall as they fell 2-0
Recap WOODLAWN 0 South Lafourche 0 WOODLAWN 1 Christian Life 1 WOODLAWN 0 McGehee 2

Excuse me for this, but I am a complete numbers geek and thought this was quite amusing.... If you take the number of goals FHS scored on SJA (6) and add them to the number of goals SJA scored on HLB (7), you get the number of goals FHS scored on HLB (13). Ha, quite fitting....okay that's enough geekiness for now...lol LOL...it's called "The Terrance System." Long story as to why and how but it goes back to my playing days and a certain GK who always had the tournaments figured out and how a team could advance, but a better term would be "fuzzy logic", or "Beavis and Butthead Math." Follow me here: We (team A) beat team "B" 2-0. They (team C) beat team "B" 1-0. Therefore, we(team A) should beat team "C" 1-0. It gets kind of tricky when the fractions/proportions don't work right....haha. I like your number crunching fhssoccerfan! Things would be real easy if this logic always held true. We might not need playoffs....better yet, we could have a power rating /and/or/ seeding system in soccer. But the old saying, "any given day".... anyhow, great post. alot of youth players do that kind of math and it brought me back to my playing days. thanks.

My question is "why?" The fact that you cite the scoring(or inability to score) as the problem is curious to me. What's going on down there at WHS? What exactly are you disappointed in? It seems that the girls played admirably...close games, no blowouts. Did the team show no will to win? I am just wondering. This may be harsh, but I will say it anyway and hopefully you and all involved with WHS soccer will take the bait and instead of posting and airing your dirty laundry, you take a good, hard look at your team and make some reasonable and logical evaluations as to what needs to change...maybe not this year because it may be too late... but next season hopefully. What we hear up in NELA....yeah I know, a bunch of Billy Bob soccer Rednecks that think futbal is - well FOOTBALL...anyway, we hear this: you have a bad ship, a bad captain, and a bad crew( A few promising and talented field players and a VERY talented GK)....and no map. Take the bait if you want to. I hope you decide not to and keep your thoughts to yourself. To WHS players: keep on fighting. BRHS and ST Joes think you are terrible. Even a tie with them MAKES your season! One step at a time is how you build (rebuild...WHS has a great soccer tradition!) a program.

I must say that those results are not bad at all. Only one loss in three, kept a clean sheet in one of the games and got a creditable tie in another.
Everyone has a right to look at things in any kind of way... and for me, I would definitely draw on the positives that can be taken out of those games rather than dwell on the negatives, especially this close to district play.
Its never too late, but time is at a premium to correct all the mistakes that players make now. Its probably worth concentrating on what you can do right on a regular basis and perfect those skills, so that they can be used as weapons in the district league games.

SNOWBIRD,
I guess at 2:37 am a lot of things seem curious to you. I find it curious that you question why the inability to score would be disappointing. The premise here is not "rocket science". It's about a game where the winner is the one who scores the most. If you read what was said, the post said that "DESPITE PLAYING FAIRLY STRONG GAMES, the inability to score was what was disappointing. You probably need to more fully lay out your agenda and say what's on your mind. But you are very correct in that this fish will not take your bait and air dirty laundry as to my knowledge there is none to air. Next time you can't sleep, I'd suggest you'd ponder the Theory of Relativity or the splitting of the atom instead of pontificating what seemingly is no more than insomnia rhetoric. Thank you very much for your concern with the WHS program, now get some sleep and good luck with the RELATIVITY!
