Congratulations to Jesuit on the game and the season. It was a tough loss especially when we started out ahead. But the better team did win. Cabos is a beast by the way. He deserves some type of award of MVP or something. He stepped into Mullins spot and did great.

Here are a few things I would like to say in this public forum:
Last night was the best experience of my soccer career. Playing in front of my friends, family, and my friends' family, in the highest level of High School Soccer was something I won't soon forget. I can't say that I'm disappointed, because our team has done something no one had even thought was possible, playing in the Championship game. Jesuit is the best team I've seen this year, and while I never lost hope that we would win, they clearly earned and deserved their State Title, congratulations to everyone who is a part of that program.
To my boys: I am so proud of you guys, you have no idea. This year has meant everything to me, and I'm so appreciative to the younger guys who working as hard as you did to make the seniors' last season the best yet. Hopefully when you are seniors, you will have underclassmen who work as hard for you as you have for us. I couldn't imagine playing with anyone else, and I will miss this team more than you can imagine. Love you guys!
To our parents: I must give you a special thanks for everything you have done for us this year. Nothing we have accomplished could've have been done without your help, whether it be hosting team dinners, sending cookies on the bus, providing water at games, as well as any other necessities (pickle juice, tape, encouragement, as well as other essentials). Special shout out to Papa Bear for keeping me focused and mentally aware. And to my mother and father, step father and step mother, I wouldn't be the person I am today without you. You have all had such a positive impact on my life, and I believe that translates to the soccer fields and has allowed me to become the player I am today.
To our coaches: You have been with us since my freshman year, seeing us grow up, mature, immature (if that's a verb), grow taller, stay shorter, and come closer as a team each and every year. This season is evidence of the hard work and dedication, the heart and soul that you have put into our team. I know you don't coach for the money, it's your love of the game and your love your players, and I respect that more than anything. I want to thank Matt for pushing me to my limits, and calling on me to lead this team when necessary. I appreciate the trust you've placed in me, and I hope I served you well. And I would like to thank Clint for his friendship and great advice over the last four years. He has helped me through many situations, and he has taught me how to play smart and with a positive attitude. Thank you again Matt and Clint.
To my brother: I am getting emotional just writing this. I love you more than you'll ever know. Playing alongside you in our last game together last night in the State Championship game was something I will never forget. I cannot express to you how much I appreciate everything you've done for me. You have made it your goal to allow me to have an amazing senior year, and you certainly didn't let me down. I love you little brother, and I know you'll have a great year next year without me.
To the soccer community and DI coaches: I hope I don't offend anyone with this, because I certainly don't intend to. Having played Jesuit last night, there is only one player deserving of All-State MVP: Steven Cabos. Now I agree that Patrick Mullins IS the best player in Louisiana, but that is not what this award is about. It is the Most Valuable Player, and that was Steven Cabos. I will say this right now, if Steven did not play for Jesuit, last nights game would have been much closer, and with Shreve possibly winning. If Mullins had been at St Paul's at the State Finals game, I agree he would most likely be winning the award, but since he wasn't, Steven is the best candidate. He has dedicated himself to his team, and he has made it his mission to win a state championship, and he was successful in doing so. This team meant everything to him, and he was the most valuable player for Louisiana this year.
And finally, I would like to thank everyone who has supported our team throughout the season. Goat you have been a great motivating factor for our team, and we are glad of the faith you have shown in us. Timerman has also been very kind in keeping in touch, as we have seen him at various tournaments and even club games.
Thank you Shreve soccer for one helluva wild ride!

I thought the ref was very decent sure he had a few blown calls but i feel it went both ways..overall a good job, i didn't think it took away from the GAME, and that is the most important thing after all..is i not You sure did fall down a lot and very easy in that game. Not taking anything away from you, you are very good and congrats on the win.

watch the youtube video of the second half. the part at 5:40 he totally blows it. and it led to the goal. not complaining, just noting. I thought jesuit was the better team last night and deserved the win, though I would have rather seen Shreve win. Oh well, NLA4Lyf Watch the second video at 3:20.

I see alot of people praising captain Shreve's goalie and calling him the best in the state, saying he has only given up 20 golas in 30 games, that is aa very impressive stat; however if we are going on stat's Stephen Andriu, Jesuit's Keeper has only 10 goals scored on him in 32 games and is a vocal leader on the team so.......

Stephen Andrieu also has the best defense in the state in front of him, so that probably helps his stats. Not to say that Shreve doesn't have a great defense (I love you Logo!), but it is not of the same caliber as Jesuit's.

i agree with that statement, but don't think for a second that takes away from his accomplishments as a keeper, correct me if i'm wrong but the last keeper to go undefeated and win a state championship was andrew mullins and he won the gatoraide player of the year award....elite company if you ask me

I agree completely. I am not trying to take away from his accomplishments at all, in fact I'm very proud of him. He has obviously improved tremendously since our 8th grade team pre-Katrina. Congrats to him on a fantastic season, and to you as well.

Just to clarify, Shreve gave up only 9 goals prior to the finals and had 21 shutouts in 30 games. Not saying Jesuits Keeper isn't very good, obviously he was good enough against us but, I just wanted to keep the facts straight.

Yeah and the reason why Jesuit's keeper didn't give up too many goals is probably because the opposing team couldn't get past Jesuit's defense, nonetheless get shots on the keeper.

completely false stephen came up with big saves in every important game of the year, just like im sure shreve's goalie did, don't pretend like shreve's defense is that much worse than jesuit's to give you keeper more credit, i was not calling out your keeper i was just saying that stephen had better numbers so if your making a case for shreve's keeper (which is a good one) than i'd say stephejn has a better one... agree to disagre?
