In reguards to the post from "Normal",
Loyola moved from Dist. 1, Div. III to Dist.1, Div. II. I guess because all but one team (Neville) in that Dist. is from the S'port/Bossier area making for less travel??

Maybe you should leave your peace of nuts town, come down here and see ... That's the funniest thing I've ever heard, coming from somebody that lives in Opelousas.

I hardly expect that Loyola would be a team to beat next year, unless they just got some amazing talent coming in as freshmen. Their keeper is a weak spot for them these days.

Div- 1 Top Teams:
Jesuit - Like every other year - by far the most talent. (They could make 2 teams and both would be in the top 5) The only way they won't win is if the coach screws the team up. They won't be as strong on offense, (Cullen the only real threat), but very strong on defense.
Acadiana - Losing their coach and a lot of seniors. Not nearly as strong as last year (last year should have been their year) still should come out 2nd in their district.
Lafayette - Also losing a lot, but unlike Acadiana they have a lot of talent coming up. They will be a force. Belfor will have them ready at the end.
C.Laforche - Wilson leads a very experienced team. They lose a couple of seniors but return most of their team from last year that beat several top teams. Don't know their coach, but what I saw last year was a disciplined "ball control" team. They should come out of the gate fast.
Rummel - They also lose a lot - but they have Montief, can he do it alone? Only time will tell. Not a lot of depth, should come along at the end of the season.
C.Shreve - They were young last year, Should improve this year. - Can they finally compete with the south??
Sulphur - Their kick and run style brought them a long way last year, should do they same this year - they will be a force.
Hahnville - Forget it - They lost about 9 or 10 starters and their JV was demolished by every decent team last year, will be very lucky just to make the playoffs. Last year should have been their year.
B.Martin - A rebuilding year, not a lot of experience, this will be Deritter's biggest challenge. (Everyone in the Catholic league will be down except Jesuit)
St. Paul - Should be at the top of their district. Strong last year, I thought they had a tough draw in the playoffs. Good coaching will have them there at the end.
Others: Covington - the 2 Judice Bros will keep the competitive. Mandeville - should compete all year. Carencro - excellent coaching always has them near the top. Destrehan - should be #2 behind C.Laforche in that district. Catholic- Don't know a lot about them, but are always strong Baton Rouge- Same as Catholic
Early top 10 1- Jesuit 2- Lafayette 3- C. Laforche 4- St. Paul 5- Catholic 6- Covington 7- Mandeville 8- C.Shreve 9- B.Martin 10- Acadiana Rummel, Sulphur, Carencro, Baton Rouge

I disagree w/ you putting C. Shreve behind covington in the rankings only b/c shreve beat covington this past year. Maybe switch them around and your rankings would be pretty accurate

fyi....covington only lost two starters from last season's squad that i know of. They should be pretty good again. As far as what loggerhead says, maybe he should remember that St. Paul has been picked to win district the past two seasons. Don't count us out either(Northshore). We have a ton of seniors and juniors. It doesn't make sense to pick a winner on the northshore anyway. This district always goes down to the last game.

You seem to have alot of good info, or at least it seems that way. I would revise your top 10 though. here is my version:
1. Jesuit - this past season was the year to beat them. Their upcoming junior and senior classes are loaded.
2. Lafayette - If the all-state team is any way to judge, they should be #1, but they're not. They are, however, a very close second.
3. Central Lafourche - Will Wilson leads a strong squad.
4. Acadiana - This may be too high for their ranking, but they always seem to be in the hunt.
5. St. Paul - They lost a few seniors, especially on the defense. If the offense scores like they are capable, they will come through. If not switch them with Cov.
6. Covington - They only lost two guys according to the post above. If so, they may be in the semi's again.
7. Captain Shreve - they will be the best from the north and a legit top 10 team.
8. Carencro - third place in a tough district. Still tough to beat though.
9. Caddo Magnet - Yes, a 2nd North La. school in the top 10.
10. Sulphur - the toughest wildcard in the state.
The rest: 11. Mandeville - could be higher....... it depends on who plays. 12. Catholic - will win district, not much else 13. Brother Martin - Coach will get them to the playoffs. 14. Rummel - good coach too, they will get in as well. 15. Destrehan - good squad, but not at the same level as C. L. 16. Northshore - they have talent, time will tell. 17. East Jeff - a district title for them, they are solid. 18. Fontainebleau - Good team.... = 5th place. 19. Hahnville - still third place, but barely above Terrebone and HL Bourgeois. 20. Ponchatoula - another good team = 6th place, just above Slidell.
I'm sure I left someone out, but its what I consider to be a fairly accurate list.

I would have to say that Jesuit,Acadiana, and the usual suspects will compete for the Div. I title and Jesuit will come out on top. For Div. II Vandy will be on top. Div.3 will be St.Louis, St.Martins, and Maybe a Newman or someone.

Didn't Vandy lose a lot of people, including Menard? I'm sure they'll be good, as always, but will thay be as good this year as the last two?

Vandy lost 10 seniors from last years team. They have a very talented group of freshman and sophomores who moved up from 8th and 9th from last year. They went 2 years undefeated including beating Jesuit and BM freshman and 8th grade teams 3 times each. They will be inexperienced at the varsity level, but after a few games under their belt, especially toward playoff time with Vandy playing about 35 matches or so they should gain alot of experience for the playoffs.

Will the North teams in Div. II be able to compete this year? Loyola, maybe Parkway? If Vandy's really down, that leaves one more spot open.

I think Carencro will be the team to beat in 2004. They are loseing 2 useful players: Steven D. (mid) Kyle D. (goalie) They only had 3 other seniors that played. One was injured half the season. But the rest of the team was based off of there Juniors, a few sophmores and one freshman. The freshman was up top and done most of the scoreing through out the year. Carencro's defense will be the toughest part of team. With 14 seniors for Carencro's 2004 team, a few juniors, and ONE SOLID SOPHMORE, Carencro should be concidered a tough team to beat.
