Great--just because you played doesn't mean you can coach. Too many guys think they know alot, but never took a coaching course to learn how to convey what they know to the players

I've never met a chemistry teacher who coaches football, so Mr. King may be different. Find out if he has coached soccer before, or is this Skip throwing a bone to the soccer program at the school. Get some teammates and approach King and see what he knows about soccer.

If King did play soccer in college, I think he will be better than last year's coach

Coach Ron was a pretty good coach though if u listened to him and did what he wanted you to do then you got along with him well but if u dont listen to him...... you wont get along with him.

If King did play soccer in college, I think he will be better than last year's coach O guess that you don't get it---just because you played doesn't mean that you can coach. If he played it helps, but Pele was a great player, but a horrible coach because he could do everything naturally and couldn't explain what he did. Bruce Arena is a great coach who was a LaCross player.

Why not Coach Ron again this year? All of the players with sorry attitudes have gone, or are playin football. Coach Ron would be good for the players we have comin back.

Looks like the school system wants only coaches who are teacher or councelors. Of course, they must not know anything about soccer just American Football. Ron is a very knowledgeable who expected his team to play hard and respectful. Too bad he won't be back.

word? has anyone talked to King to guage his knowledge? If MHS football makes the playoffs, the soccer district schedule will have started even before the soccer team has tried out to make the team.

anyone could coach Mandeville to the playoffs this year; they have lots of strong players from last year's team; they made the elite 8 in the playoffs last year; this year's team is probably better than last year's - bottom line: who cares what King does or does not know? I pick Mandeville for the Final Four this year no matter who coaches

Oh No !! Now there are all kinds of rumors as to who will or will not be our coach. The King guy isn't going to do it and now we are waiting to see what the school will do. Coach( ) Whitaker had the meetings with us, but could not tell us who was our coach. He is a nice guy and very good at baseball, but he will tell you he doesn't know too much about soccer. I hope that it is Mike Copper. He is a quality coach and a good guy. He we go again!!!!

That's the way it's going to be. Whitaker is the Coach. He has been promoted to Baseball JV and Head Soccer Coach.
If ever a team of boys can come together this has got to be the team. SENIOR LEADERSHIP from Bennett, Nick, Stuart and Brent is essential. JUNIOR FOLLOWSHIP from Tyler, Zack and the Drory twins will be crucial. That's 8 starters returning, and represents almost 50 of the 65 goals the team scored last year.
Add in Andre, Ian and Austin, and this team has a mean and hungry look. Oh Goalkeeper, where art thou?
Luckily, they boys have played under good coaching all their lives and will not be another Fontainebleau.

The cook will be replaced. Will need to find a keeper also. Mike Whitaker was not able to attend the Booster Club meeting tonight, but he sent his assistant coach, Mike Cooper. Cooper still has to take the LHSAA test, and should be certified and on the field by December. Meanwhile, the Mighty Skippers open district play with St Pauls at home on Friday, Nov 21, and then play at Fontainebleau Tournament on November 24, 25, 28 and 29. The football coach will take over the JV when football is finished, which could also be December.

MSH1 - why will Cooper not be on the field before December? what about try-outs & games before December? is the baseball coach handling these duties? please don't say yes.
if Cooper has been given the green light, whats the problem? has anyone read the rules? Cooper has to register & he's legal! who's playing head games now?
Take a look at LHSCA: NOVEMBER CLASSES, AREA, DAY/DATE.
