I heard that Ron Williams won't be coaching at Mandy but they have a assistant football coach who will be doing it. Looks like the boys coach themselves again and that is a shame

How about Tyler's dad, if Adam's dad can't do both. He seems to know soccer pretty well.

I am Tyler's dad. I just want to thank whoever said that I might be qualified to coach. While it would be a tremendous honor to coach the Mandeville team, my job would not permit me to assume those responsibilities....but if I won the Powerball lottery.....

the girl's team just got a soccer coach from Mt Carmel, Sean Esker, a US Soccer licensed coach, so we need a real soccer coach, not a fill-in football coach. Tyler's Dad, are you on the boys boster club for soccer? What have you heard from Skip?

???Skip Curtis never has or never will care about soccer. It is almighty American football or nothing. There are several qualified soccer coaches who are parents of members of the team who would do it for nothing and definitely do a better job than a "fill-in". Two of whom have coached at a high level. We all know that LHSAA has all types of rules that prohibit outsiders from coaching, but isn't sad that the players can't even have a fighting chance? I wonder which student Skip will want to fight this year?

Skip will do a good job. He cares about the school and will keep the boys in line and motivated. Don't worry McDonald will still play, he's all talk, just wants everyone to beg him to play, just watch and see.

He doesn't know a touch line from a set piece.

Skip does know the inside of a courtroom. The current athletic director and former head football coach at MHS since 1975, pled no contest on Wednesday to a battery charge on a student. Skip was fined $250 and placed on 3 months probation by the court. Times Picayune headline: TEACHER PLEADS NO CONTEST TO BATTERY. (Could have been 6 months in prison and $500 fine)
Surely the school district will replace him (he can not coach youth sports with a criminal record).
Last year he told the soccer booster club they could not sell season tickets because soccer is a minor sport and nobody would buy tickets.

Thank goodness someone other than me recognizes that Skip Curtis has a serious angry and power identity problem. Anyone who has been around him knows how he is and that because of his shortness, he tries to make up for it in using his power. Back to soccer---We need a COACH!! our boys deserve better.

You can bet the football, baseball and basketball teams will all have knowledgeable head coaches.
The girls team has a NOSA staff coach. Let's hope Skip will do something soon and the speculation will end.
Someone from the Booster club should be calling Skip everyday until we find one. Or the players should be asking him. McDonald, show that you are a leader on this issue - get the returning players together and ask Skip for a meeting with the team.
What about Jeanfreau? or Ortner? Is Mike Cooper still in the running? I believe McDonald's father has a coaching license.

First of all, I heard that Skip will not be involved with any sports since pleading guilty to the charges for hitting a student. Second, it is very complicated for someone to coach who is not a teacher in the school system---you have to have a board certifcation

he's right that soccer is a minor sport. nothing wrong with stating the truth. compared to football and basketball soccer just doesnt attract the numbers. selling season tickets is a dumb idea because only a couple of parents would buy them. soccer's popularity is not increasing all that much at the high school level. well, it is, but slowly. it's good we have a lot of teams playing hs soccer now. ten years ago maybe just half the number we have now had teams.
i think attacking this guy isnt the right thing. people are such babies today. i dont know the whole story behind the "battery" but you can get arrested for just pushing someone today. back in the day you just got over a fight because a little rumble tumble doesnt hurt anyone. now people are so crazy about getting revenge and suing. it's really sad. how long does a bruise take to heal? a week?

My dad wouldnt be able to coach because he works 8 days straight out of town and then hes home 8 days........ Trust me if my dad could do it he would but he cant. I would try to talk to skip but it probably wouldnt do anything because he doesnt care about soccer so... or maybe he does kinda care about it but he wont do anything for the game.
