Eck -- I agree with your point. When players are saying "me" instead of "us", and worrying about "who" scores the goals, instead of "how many", the team has a problem.
But, Nick and Tyler, the players who are putting their names on their posts, are unselfish and were recognized by their coach and the district coaches last year. They had 30 goals combined, but I'm sure they will let Andre have those 30 this year if it means a championship! Or even split up the 30 with all the 10th graders who make varsity.

looks good to me. These teams are pretty much there year and year out. Until others can play at that level they will not be able to be rankeed. West Monroe included, lord knows we are trying.

Especially since most people on this board agree that the top 15's that were posted are fairly accurate. It doesn't take a genius to take results from last year, and apply them to this year.

I agree with some of the top 15 teams on the list but I am not sure St. Paul's should be number 2. Do not get me wrong, they are a good team and they will be hard to beat but I do not believe they will play to their full potential. Atleast not with Brother Tim as the head coach. I have to give him credit for a well run program, but he does not know where to play some of his players. Bro. Tim knows more about the game then playing it (I mean no disrespect to him, his team, his school, or the other coaches).
And why isn't CHS ranked higher then they are? We are still a very competitive team. People act as if we lost our entire team. We lost two players but we also gained talent and our other players are beginning to step up greatly. Will we go undefeated in district? I do not know but is a district as tough as ours any team that goes undefeated deserves major credit.

St. Pauls has the talent to be #2 seed and possibly overtake jesuit, but bro tim is an awful coach and he can't get his team straight so they'll probubly fall down the list. thats the innaccuracy of pre season rankings. we'll jsut have to see. and as for covington, they should move up but who knows.

They should be good, but won't beat St. Paul. I hear practices at CHS are going smooth.....although I don't know how much worse it could have been than losing to Northlake Christian. If they continue to heal and have good practices, I think they have a good shot at the playoffs. When is the next CHS scrimmage. I will be in town next week and would like to watch.nm

To clear something up CHS's Freshman team lost to Northlake Christian. A young team with VERY few people that have played almost tied but a firat time keeper did not get to the ball.
Also the next CHS varsity scrimage is Tuesday at 7 at the CYSA fields. Should be a good game as it always is against St. Thomas Aquinas. Chs may not have all their players due to football though, but we shall see.

I appreciate your generosity naming Captain Shreve #7 and Caddo Magnet #15. Both are probably overrated, although they will do well up here-they should there is no one else to challenge them. Shreve lost too many solid players last year, and they are down to 3-4 really good players. Magnet lost their coach, which will hurt; Shreve didn't lose their coach, which will also hurt. Early exit for both; probably first round. I must say that is slinging mud if I ever heard it. Shreve and Magnet both have some really solid players. Shreve didn't lose as many as you seem to think. I look forward to see them both play this year. And by the way, you must not really know what you are talking about, Shreve has a new coach this year as well.

Although that #9 rating for Catholic-BR is somewhat acceptable for a pre-season ranking, I expect that their title of "best of BR" is in jeopardy this season. Several teams, including #28-BRHS and #30-St. Amant, are poised to claim the BR throne for themselves.

Sorry Mom, I'm not trying to sling mud at anyone, just stating the obvious. I really hope Shreve and Magnet do well, I am as tired of seeing our best teams being cannon fodder for the teams from the south as anyone.
Before last year Shreve had not only never won a playoff game, they had never even scored in one. And they are going to be better this year with a bunch of Sophomores? I wish I shared your optimism. Jeremy Wimer is an incredible player and Jason Beck is probably the most under appreciated player in the city, other than that nothing stands out.
I was wrong to insult their former coach, he did alot to bring some enthusiasm to their program. The role of high school coaches is minimal anyway.
Good luck to the Gators this year-especially when the playoffs begin.

Captain Shreve will have a hard time duplicating the success of last year. You cannot lose players like Visone, Lorant, Feazel, and now T. Wimer and expect to do as well as last year. New leadership is going to have to emerge for Shreve this year, and while they will be as good as any team in North Louisiana, they are going to find the going difficult when they play the better S. LA teams. I see Shreve, Magnet, and possibly Airline having a tight race for the district title. I don't see anyone going 14-0 this year. The younger players are going to have to step up and prove they can play at the varsity level. It should be an interesting season.

catholic will once again be strong this year, and will probably be one of the best teams in baton rouge. Losing Jacob Schultz to a torn ACL will hurt though. He's a good player.

Shreve is still very strong. So is Magnet I suspect they will both be good. And Shreves coach was not bad to be honest he just didn't do what the parents wanted and they Didn't like it. The same reason he doesn't get to coach the boy's in SFC anymore. And travis wimer is not a big loss. If they were to lose his brother it would be. But travis does nothing but dribble in the middle and either shoot some stupid shot from a bad angle or make dumb pass to the other team. Shreve will still be solid.

Travis Wimer was expelled from school. He can't play for Shreve.
As far as the former coach..... a coaches job is to put a winning team on the field, not make the parents happy. Ray Lee did just that.
In response to norla, I think you are right about Jeremy Wimer and Jason Beck. Definately solid players. Shreve has a chance if Beck runs the defense as he has in the past. They are gonna need a strong midfield and the players they have will definately have to stand up and fill the middle.

It doesn't surprise me that wimer was expelled. He is a huge problem on the field.(always being carded for talking to the refs) And your right Ray Lee is a good coach and he doesn't make parents happy. But hey would you like it if someone came and told you how to run your job. NO and neither did he.

preseason top 10.......I honestly have no clue b/c I haven't seen anyone play. So I will start with my preseason top 10 being the same as how last year ended.
1) Jesuit - I honestly don't think they will lose this year 2) Lafayette - lost alot of talent....time will tell 3) Acadiana - same as LHS 4) Rummel - no clue what they look like 5) Covington - they have won district twice, maybe a 3 peat? 6) Central Lafourche - should be a real good team this year 7) Cpt. Shreve - no clue 8) Mandeville - looked good last year, no clue this year 9) Brother Martin - should be a strong team, were young last year and still good, should be better now 10) St. Paul - hearing good things, but we'll see
I will post a top 10 later in the season when I get a chance to go watch some teams play. Good luck to all teams this year. Should be some excellent games this year.
Pre-season pick as champion - Jesuit
