The 2012 Division I State Championship will be held at Tad Gormley Stadium in City Park in New Orleans. The game will be on Saturday, February 25 at 7:30 PM.
The #1 Seed, Jesuit High School, has a overall record of 23-1-1 with a division record of 21-1-0. The Jay's only loss of this season is to Brother Martin in district play. In the Bi-District round Jesuit defeated Walker 12-0, and defeated Rummel 2-1 in Overtime in the Regional Round. In the Quarterfinals they defeated New Iberia SH 2-0. And in the Semi-finals they defeated St. Thomas More 3-2 in the finals seconds of the game. This season the Jays have only given up 10 goals in 28 games (including non-lhsaa) and have scored 108 goals. The Jays were the State Runner-Up last year.
The #2 Seed, St. Paul's, has an overall record of 27-1-2 with a division record of 23-1-1. The Wolves only loss of this season is to Brother Martin in the Semi-finals of the St. Paul's Invitational. In the Bi-District round St. Paul's defeated Ruston 8-0, and defeated Zachary 5-0 in the Regional Round. In the quarterfinals they defeated Acadiana 2-1. In the Semi-Finals St. Paul's defeated Brother Martin 2-0. This season the Wolves has only given up 12 goals in 30 games and have scored 112 goals. The Wolves are the reigning State Champions in DI.
The Wolves and the Jays have not played each other this season, but this will be a rematch of the 2011 State Finals in which St. Paul's defeated Jesuit 2-1.
