The king is dead. Long live the king.
No five-peat this year. What an incredible game. Heartbreaker for St. Paul’s to be seconds away and concede a goal like that.

Congratulations Jays. As a former player who lost to St. Paul’s in the finals, it’s nice to finally take one after their impressive run. Good game St. Paul’s, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone to see these two teams back in the finals next year.

Took it to da ritz. Honestly I can’t wait for those Jesuit players to come onto the forum.
Congrats to Jesuit for their return to the top. Looks like seeding doesn’t matter all that much after all.
Congrats to St Paul’s on a great season and to the seniors for four phenomenal years of SPS soccer. Nothing to hang their heads about at all.

Wish there would be a good video package of this game. The best I can find is some play by play, big plays videos, and videos of the goals from @ Mike_Gegs on Twitter.

That’s the second time in these finals a champion defeated a team that had beaten them twice in the regular season. Incredible.
The last time Jesuit won, in 2013, it was also on golden goal from a set piece play. Funny how history repeats itself.

This game was a great end to the finals. Definitely made the three trips to Lafayette this week all worth it. Congrats to Hubie and his boys.
I enjoyed the venue. Much better than Gormley, even though Gormley is much closer to home.

Jesuit defense is the best in the state. No question about it. With the starters in they have conceded 3 goals from regular play all year. Unbelievable.

St. Paul’s is a fantastic team, and they have a lot of talent. Coach Moser and his team had a lot of composure at the end of the game and truly gave a great fight. He was a little off on his prediction about the game, but everyone makes mistakes. Playing against such talented players and a coach like Moser really made winning the championship something special.
