liverpool are by far the best team in the world. they have got the #1 ranking in club competition. the have won every cup except the english premierleague in 5 years on club level. they can beat anyone like chelsea and juventus.

I wouldn't say they are the best yet. I support them, and while their recent form is good, consitancy has plauged the Reds before. True, they won the Champion's League, but what about their dismal performances in the EPL? THey are on their way to greatness, yes, but until they maintain high standards expected and set by former Liverpool teams, they are not the greatest yet.

yes i do agree with you mate. thats very true but they just got slumped out of a endless winning streak by bolton and didnt let in a goal in a long while so they are really impressing me. lets hope they beat anyone and everyone that comes to anfield or our away games. liverpool all the way.

this topic makes me sick. No team in the world can rival the recent success in soccer that Manchester United have had. And Liverpool just lost to Sau Paulo, or maybe you wanted to leave that out.

Manchested United (2) just got drubbed by Man City (9) 3-1.....while Liverpool (3) beat Tottenham (4).

i dont think big nasty knows what hes on about mate. recent succes of what manchester united have had. can you tell me what success they have had then please. they got kicked out of the champions league by a crappy french team. lost 3-1 to man city with goals by fowler (ex liverpool player) sinclair and vassel. they havent had no success so it makes me sick when you dont know what your on about mate. whilst liverpool have bean playing really good with a 1-0 win over the spurs with a brilliant volley from harry kewell

Actually, he does have a point. Coming into the game, Man Utd was on a 11-game unbeaten stretch, which ended horribly today (complete with a C. Ronaldo sending off).

well mate, actually I know exactly what I'm on about. You're sitting here talking about Liverpool's success in previous years, and that's what I'm talking about too.
Manchester won the league under Sir Alex Ferguson EIGHT TIMES (93, 94, 96, 97, 99, 00, 01, 03)! Oh and the Red Devils also won the Champions League in 99. This is also where they won the treble. First team in English history to do so I might add. The third trophy came from the FA Cup. They also won that in 90, 94, 96, and 04.
Let's see, I believe the League championship was won in 92.
I believe I recall a win in the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup in 91.
Back to the glorious 99 season, they won the intercontinental cup, something Liverpool recently failed to do. I'm getting tired from all these awards, but I have one more. The European Super Cup was won by United in 91. By the way, this was all under Sir Alex. Greatest gaffer of all time!
Ah you see, sweet glory, and nothing Liverpool will ever match. Not to mention Manchester is going through one of those things called a slump, and they're still ahead in the table over your totally in form Liverpool. Manchester is rebuilding, and I can't wait to see when construction is done.

oh and to talk about the loss to man. city. You should know this since you are obviously a genius like me. In soccer, any team can beat any other team on any given day. Especially when it's a derby game. You of all people should know this. I mean, you're a Liverpool fan. Y'all know everything right?

ok on the last decade manchester have won everything i have to go with you on that one but i did prefer watching them when they had peter schmeichal and the 2 unstoppable forwards, andy cole and dwight yorke and teddy sheringham. thats when united were class. but now i dont think they can win anything big.

yes mate we are just 2 fans which happen to support liverpool and manchester united which is one of the biggest rivalries in the world so me and you can keep going but manchester united have had more success but liverpool are hopefully on there own run of it right now. liverpool are know way as good as the 1999 man united but i think there better now.

only by a little bit though we got ciise you got rooney, we got gerrard you got ronaldo, we got hyypia you got ferdinand, we got reina and dudek and you got howard and van der sar so i think were just as star packed as each other really. and van der sar doesnt get as much attention as he should have i think hes one of the best keepers ever alongside oliver kahn and peter schmeical.

as painful as it is, you've got a point. Liverpool and Manchester are two of the greatest clubs in the EPL. I'm just glad to see Arsenal out of the picture for now. Not so much because I dislike the club, I just can't stand that Arsene Wenger. And yes Liverpool are having a better run in the EPL than Manchester this year. You've got 2 games in hand and we're only ahead of you by a single point. I can't wait for the Liverpool Manchester game. It should be fun.

Actually hasn't Liverpool won the Premier League 18 times...a record? Man U is currently in second with 45 points, Liverpool third with 44, but L'pool has two games in hand.

Just pointing out while Man U has the recent succeses that Lpool lacks, there is a long tradition of greatness at Anfield.
