The season is behind us.... the All District teams have been selected. Why are so many not posted yet? Is there another site other than LAprepsoccer.com to see these listed? I would think the ladies would be ready to see these and begin to receive the accolades due them.

Someone who was at the meeting and has the complete list neeeds to post it. I know most of the first team and some of the second but not all and I don't want to post a partial team. I assume by this time that all schools have notiifed their girls. Unless someone is willing to post the entire group, we will have to wait for the newspaper to publish the names.

Observer.... I assume you were talking about know Div I, Dis 3 and while I would like to see that there also are so many Divisions and Districts not posted yet and the selections have long since been made. I would think the coaches would be pushing this and getting them posted on behalf of thier girls.

For Div. I, Dist. 3, the size of the team is determined by the Parish Athletic Director. My understanding of the process is that each coach submits nominations for first and second team. The first vote is for first team only and each coach votes for ( and ranks ) 6 offensive and 4 defensive positions plus 1 goalie. After the first team is selected, the coaches revotes for second team the same way. No coach can vote for their own player. Perhaps Rainbowcycle can shed some light on the process as I believe he used to be involved.

I know that Barbe, Acadiana and New Iberia have announced their schools selections but I don't know about any other schools.

So does anyone know when the teams officially come out in the paper?

I was told that the earliest will be after Basketball is completed. I was also told that not all teams had been turned in to the paper yet and no team will be posted until all have been turned in.

Is there a focal point....someone who has the ability to contact all parties responsible for reporting this information to the papers??? From what I've read on this site, is that all the young ladies have been picked, it's just a matter of reporting?? (Correct me if I'm wrong)
If there is in fact an official list and if it has been reported to the LHSAA or who ever it needs to be reported to, why can it not be release??
There was a comment or statement about waiting until after basketball season??? What's up with that?

There was a comment or statement about waiting until after basketball season??? What's up with that? I emailed the Baton Rouge Advocate last week regarding the All District teams, both boys and girls and I got the same response in regard to basketball. I assume the sports staff is closely following the playoffs.

I try not to assume anything when it comes to soccer in this area. Boys and especially girls soccer is treated as a "minor" sport by both the school and the media. NO RESPECT

Perhaps the Basket Ball they are waiting for is the NCAA tourn. Perchance is the team so late in being posted because the folks that did the picking are embarassed? Didn't the meeting take place on a night that both Comeaux and LHS were playing playoff games? How bad can it be?

anyone who is familiar with Lafayette knows that the Daily Advertiser posts all district soccer and basketball teams at the same time. That being said, all Lafayette area teams have not been turned in yet so none will be printed until the newspaper has ALL the information. This is not the only district that has not released the info. As far as the date of the meeting, Lafayette and Comeaux both had reps at the meeting.

Thank you observer Your information and $2 will get you a cup of coffee at CC's. Want to bet that LHS got a raw deal in the number or players placed on the team? I'd wager that what was one of the best defenses in the state got the shaft. LHS's was not great at putting the ball in the net but they were oustanding in their defensive play. They held the powerful MCA attack to one goal in the finals. The only goal scored during the playoffs on LHS. But this will not be reflected in the all district team.

Because the meeting was held before the playoffs, it is not possible that the teams reflect play what happened in the playoffs. Lafayette's defense was great along with Comeaux's, Barbe's and Acadiana's. I get the feeling that LHS fans already know the all district team and they are just waiting for it to be posted so they can go off!

Obsever in your last post you make mention that no playoff games could be considered in making picks for all district teams During the regular season Comeaux was the only team to score a goal during field play on LHS in the entire district. They had one PK and one free kick scored against them afterwards (I think) but no others. Will that be reflected in the all district teams?

Everybody has their own thoughts but I would pick the following defense: Vice ( Comeaux ) Gamble ( LHS ) Courts ( Acadiana ) and the Barbe sweeper with the keeper from Barbe. Goals allowed should be considered but a great midefield ( LHS's strength ) really limits shot opportunities.

I beg to differ. When you run a flat 4 the engine that pulls the train is the 4 across the back. LHS's strength was the DEFENSE. The Jordan girl #13 in the midfield is an outstanding player and should make the team but the main reason for the Lion's success this year was the defensive back line. Granted it takes a goal to win a game but finding the back of the net was often hard for the Lions. More than one game was won on the assist made or goal scored by the defense.

Why can't we see the list and judge for ourselves? Post the list! Someone has to know the complete list of the teams.
