Neville 5 - Loyola 0 - Had lots of shots that did not go in for Neville and the goalie for Loyola had many good saves. Cold night and long drive home from Shreveport.

Tues. 12/5
Sacred Heart 3, Ben Franklin 1
Goals: SH Jessica Talbot 2, Lindsey Brower; BF Jesse Smith Halftime: 1-0 BF
Franklin fans now wondering not only which BF team is going to show up for a game, but which BF team is going to show up each half of a game. Franklin scored in the 10th minute, possessed and attacked well, and absolutely deserved its lead at the half. Then... no possession, no energy, no nothing. It was still 1-0 at the 60 minute mark when SH scored three times in five minutes. Credit to SH for taking advantage of its opportunity to get back in the game after having to play without four injured starters.

VCHS 8?- Ellender 1 This was a pretty bad display of soccer by VCHS. Looked like everyone wanted to do it on their own instead of taking the opportunity to work on passing and possession.

Destrehan 8 - Riverside 0
Solid game for Destrehan with five different goal scorers. A sophomore forward had the first hat trick of her career and the last goal came on a beautiful 40 yard free kick from the sweeper
Looking forward to see how the team plays this weekend at the St. Amant tournament.

Mandeville 3, Fontainebleau 1
Game was tied 1-1 at the half. MHS put in two second half goals (one off a header from a cornerkick, the other a rebound off a shot that hit the crossbar) to finish 3-1.

Terrrebonne 1 Dominican 1
Game of 2 halves. Terrebonne wins the first half and Dominican takes the second. Terrebonne scored on a ball up the middle with the forwards wall passing through the defense with a nice finish to the corner in the 32nd minute of the first half. Dominican came out hard the second half and kept Terrebonne bottled up for the first 10 - 15 minutes of the second half. Both had opportunities but Dominican controlled most of the half. Finally scored in the 23rd minute on a corner that bounced around in the box before being put away. For me it was a game that I thought Terrebonne could have put away but let it slip away. Dominican is a solid team as has been seen in their performances this year. I still don't think Terrebonne has hit their stride but had another good showing tonight. Credit to the defense for a solid performance against a good Dominican offense. This was a good game to watch if you're a soccer fan and don't mind the cold weather. Good job both teams. The Terrebonne boys lost to ED White 3-1 in the night cap after leading 1-0 at the half.

12/5/06 Tuesday Lafayette 3 Comeaux 0 Both teams came to play LHS first goal free kick from about 35 yards by J. Hopkins just in under the cross bar about 30 mins into first half. second goal PK by E. Burney early in second half. final goal by C. Granger a very nice shot that the keeper went to the right post and put hands on it but too hot and it rolled in. Physical game with some good shots by Comeaux. The center ref could not get it right when it came to who's throw in it was but that did not decide the game.

12.05.06 -- St. Joseph's 2 U-High 1. SJA sluggish in 1st half after lengthy lay-off + fatigue from arriving @ 2:00 Monday morning after having attended women's Final Four in NC. UH scores in 36th min with a pretty floating free kick from the left side. 1-0 @ ht.
Megan Aultman scores equalizer and then winner in 43rd and 59th minutes with darting runs though UH defense.
UH goalie was outstanding -- very lean and athletic. SJA outshot UH probably 12-3. SJA goalie Gabe Chabert saved the match in 76th minute with an outstanding, lunging save of a free kick.
