sokerfan - I am not sure what happened between the MCA coaches and the young ball girl or the St. Louis team members/coaches and likely never will. As always with these type of situations, there is likely a great deal of misunderstanding of the facts. It appears that someone else (soccerkid1) has a totally different prospective than you and I am sure there are several other versions of what may have happened.
At any rate, your ranting about the alleged inappropriate behavior of the MCA coach but at the same time allude to using your own physical stature to intimidate this same coach in public and in front of kids. A bad action by a coach (albeit only alledged) does not deserve another bad action (or even a threat of action).
I would hope that you find a better way to resolve this matter and not set such a poor example for kids on how to deal with these issues!

I happened to be in close vicinity when MCA scored their goal & MCA coaches went NUTS....screaming directly at the ST Louis coach & bench. Thought the guy was going pop a blood vessel in his neck. No reason to act that way. He is very lucky the STL coach is a good guy.

There is NOTHING wrong going NUTS when a goal is scored.!!!!!!!! That is why we play the game. Unfortunately, I WAS RIGHT THERE and I could hear the one of the St.louis coaches intimitading MCA coaches after their goal was scored.
Anyway, I am done with this.

I saw the lhs MCA game and thought the match went well. I regretably missed the final which I am sure it was excellent. MCA is a well balanced team and being so young will be looking to see them in the play offs in the next couple of years. Cardsinhand made a point...if coaches and parents can see calls better from 60 yards away and the ref is within 10 yards then maybe we found a new outlet for refs. The rule book is written with this statement" In the opinion of the ref..." When a call is made against our team it is my opinion he is wrong. With the way some coaches and parents yell at the refs I can understand why we have older refs and new refs, but nothing in between. Those old refs or either good or have thick skin. I have never seen a ref reverse a call after bieng yelled at. Crad in hand please let us know about the next class.

You guys really need to chill out. If someone out there can honestly say they are without sin in this situation, I'd like to meet you. I am sure there were celebrations when each team scored, and how one coach is to celebrate is not up for another coach to judge or any "innocent passerby," to say the least bit. One might think there are problems with how much a team celebrates or their coach but then again they might think there is a problem with you not celebrating enough. I personally would love for a coach to get excited and go crazy when their team scores, it keeps the fire going in your team and shows in more than one way that their proud of what you are doing and what you just accomplished. Who are you guys to judge? Keep your own opinions to yourself. Guys what one person does should not effect your lives this tragically. I feel bad for those of you that are letting this get to you but I promise you there are far more better things in life to quiver over than this. It never fails that someone will always bring up problems with things instead of just congratulating the champion or talking about the games themselves. In case anyone forgot, its the players playing the game not the coaches or parents, so how about we keep the talk focused on them and how well they performed. It's all for the fun of the game and everything is done in the heat of match. So congratulations Mount Carmel for a job well done and a perfect weekend. You went out there and fought for what you wanted and came out on top. No matter what this coach or that coach said or exclaimed you were ones fighting for that spot in the winners circle and you got it! For such a young team, there is a lot to say about these girls and what they have accomplished so far this season.

Well said fleurdelis.
Last few comments before we welcome 2008: Congratulating the opposing team before PKs = class act. Anonymous, cowardly call to the MCA AD to complain about the coaches = CLASSLESS
MCA Coaches crime: they beat St. Louis twice in one month.
My new year's resolution: This is my last post on this site.
Finally, Happy and Healthy New Year to all!

Wow this thead has taken off. I want to go back to my first point. Mainly Louisiana needs a top flight tournament where the best teams in the state come to compete. I attended the St. martins tournmant many of the best teams in the state were there and we are playing on Pee wee football fields with funny structures on top of the goals and dual reffs. I attended the St. louis tournament, not as many teams but great facilites and 3 refs per game. Lafayette had great teams but poor fields and dual reffs

besides the controversy from the St Louis and Mt Carmel game....can someone provide a summary of the actual game? Who had more possession, opportunities on goal etc. I was very impressed with St Louis in the Lake Charles tournament. I have not seen Mt Carmel play this year so I am interested in how the actual flow of the game went minus the issues.
