D-1 District 6 has 3 very good keepers. Dutchtown St Amant and EA all have very good keepers. After watching them all play, Dutchtown's goalkeeper hasn't been scored on very much, but I don't think she's been shot on much either. I think the best of the 3 is probably the girl from East Ascension.

i must say bolton's keeper, hannah linzay is top notch. She does indeed play for the ODP state team and would have probably been held over at regional camp had she not been knocked unconcious on the last day of camp. As previously stated she does have all the qualities and is fearless. Anyone who has played on the field with her can tell you that. She works extremely hard yearround as do most keepers but doesnt get near as much credit as keepers from bigger, better programs. She is an amazing keeper and a great teammate.

No matter who you vote for this is the most underappreciated position on the field. When the ball hits the back of the net only one person is blamed, by most everyone in the stands and a majority of those down below. No other position requires mistake free play from openning whistle until both teams shake hands at the end of the game. So kudos to all of you that have/do stand between the pipes. Your all MVP's in my eyes.

I definately agree with Saders1fan. Keepers are the least talked about players on the field yet they usually do the most work. If they make one mistake it could cost their team the game. Noone else on the field has that much pressure on them. So kudos to all keepers.

Today was a great example when the keeper completely changed the flow of a game. In today's Menard - OSC game in Monroe...score was 2-1. OCS's best player #5 (she was #4 last week) had a breakaway and seemed sure to score. The Menard keeper came off her line and challenged the attack and completely shut down the play. From that point forward, it was Menard's game. Great job by a senior keeper.

Jean Benard at FHS is truly outstanding, not only as a soccer player but as a person too.
I can't remember the girls name but the SSA keeper is also very good. Amy something, I believe. I saw her work with some of the younger girls and it was very impressive.
FHS also has a very good JV keeper coming up.

Well, Loyola's keeper won't be voted best, but she is a freshman, who had never played soccer before at all. We did not have a keeper and she volunteered. From the 1st games where we were all holding our breaths in dread, to now where we have confidence in her, the transition has been amazing. With some good keeper training over the summer she can be outstanding next year. Has good hands and good instincts.

Has anyone ever seen a Goal Keeper, north of I-20, play this position?

IF you have speak up for your favorite. Know there must be at least one up there somewhere. Captain Shreve had to use a field player last night to hold St Joes to two goals and did a very good job I'm told.
Will no one speak St Fredricks GK looks like she got pelted in her final game of the year. Giving respect in even in defeat by opponent.

Watched the Northshore-vs-Dutchtown game tonight and I'd say Northshore's keeper is very skilled. She played a near perfect game tonight against the Griffins.

I also agree that Megan Wilder for Byrd is one of the best I've seen this year statewide and I believe she is only a sophmore?
yes, megan is indeed only a sophmore and she is one amazing keeper. she was not scored on once in district (regulation play), something she and our team mates are very proud of her for. she starts every game even though we have both a senior and a junior keeper. megan is on ODP as a goalkeeper as well.
and as for cat savage, i don't know much about her but i have seen her play, she is good as well.
