EA vs. BRHS Tonight at EA. I'll update after the JV game unless someone beats me to it. Unless BRHS can find some consistency in their play this looks like a chance for EA to further proclaim their dominance in this district. My brain says 2-0 EA, my heart is hoping for an upset!

Hey barnacle13- would you mind buying me a lottery ticket??? With predictions that accurate, we should get you to go ahead and complete the playoff bracket now. Any advice on the LSU-BAMA final score so I can place an early wager???

Based on what I'd seen and their earlier Jamboree matchup it wasn't much of a stretch. Trust me a lucky stab getting it right. My BRHS vs St.amant prediction was a bit more realistic. I had it at 3-0 or 3-1 BRHS. 10 minutes into the game I was eating crow with a 2-0 St.Amant lead. Luckily the Lady Bulldogs came back and scored the three I was giving them. I think Dutchtown and St.Joe's games will be tight with BRHS, unless they come out flat like they did against St.Amant. They won't be able to make up a 2 goal deficit against DTown or SJA.

Anyone have details on the STA/Dutchtown game? With score of 1-0 sounds like lot of defense.

SJA 1 BRHS 0
Beautiful day @ the Bank. Tough well played physical game. Brady Moran with the game winner in the 73rd minute. Both teams with opportunities but couldn't finish. BRHS seemed to have better runs in the mid field.
Stats --
SJA with 9 total shots, 4 OG
BRH with 6 shots, 4 OG
Emily Cronin of SJA with 4 saves
BRH goalie 2 saves
SJA with 4 fouls BRH with 5 fouls
SJA had the only corner.
Congrats to both teams.

I didn't get to watch this one, but all reports were BRHS controlled possession, but couldn't find the net (or a shot it appears). Sounds like fatigue at the end of the game became an issue for BRHS, despite having sevral fresh players on the bench. BRHS hasn't quite put it together at this late stage in the season. With all of the returning players from last season's district runner-up and sevearl strong players added to the roster I figured they'd be more of a factor in the district race. Currently I'm looking at them to finish 4 or 5, with the talent to be a solid runner-up and perhaps even push EA for the title. Disappointing to say the least!

Barnacle -- possession was 50-50, although as I indicated BRHS had some nice build-ups with Segura in midfield. SjA showed patience in its 2nd half attacks where patience lacked in the 1st half. Nony was an absolute beast as always and impenetrable on the back line although as you said fatigue may have factored on the 73rd min goal. SJA's forwards were making her run and Emily Krzystowczwk finally won a ball just left of the box from Nony. She passed to Bradie Moran who converted.
BRHS will be a player with Segura, Lauren Odenwald, Nony, Madeline, Kayla, and Emily D.

BRHS will be a player with Segura, Lauren Odenwald, Nony, Madeline, Kayla, and Emily D. I know they have quality players. Form is just way off. At this point in the season I'd have expected the kinks to be worked out. They've got a lot of ground to make up. Sitting in 5th place in district when they should be a solid 2nd doesn't give you a high confidence level. There's time to rebound, but I see Dutchtown as a must win for them to start building and moving up the table. Even a couple of the players listed above seem out of form. The most consistent player for the team at this point is probably Oldenwald follwed by B.St.Armand. Others have shown flashes, but the consistency hasn't been there. More substitutions might help as well. There's quality on the bench that can give the much needed breather, it just isn't being used. By the last half most of the team is gassed. Maybe it's conditioning, but when you have good subs you can afford a little less conditioning.
