daglish you are sadly mistaken! Have you not read the majority of responses on this board. ALL officials are created equal and the only problem with soccer in Louisiana is the loud mouth coaches and ignorant spectators, just ask them and they will tell you so. Right happyjack? Seen one official call a game and you have seen them all. The officials in Louisiana live in a vacuum where there no difference in job performance by individuals. No other place in society is this true, but ownly in their little world. Your the only person here claiming omnipotence of officials. Many have posted steps we have taken for officials improvement, but you brush that off. I asked for specifics so they can be addressed, you chose not to provide it. I'm not really sure what you are attempting to accomplish, but I'm fairly certain your not going to get a majority of people to agree to whatever point it is you are trying to make.

I'm all in favor for a grading system for officials, as long as one is put in place for coaches as well! There is one in place for coaches... No cards = passing Yellow card = needs improvement Red card = failing My only failing grade came while sitting in a lawn chair at the strawberry cup. To be fair, I was only carded after I removed my hat. I didn't realize my balding head was that offensive. ;D As far as grading referees goes...that is where the assignor comes in imo. I feel a good assignor is a liason between the coaches and the referees. If he is at the match, he can give feedback to the crew on the spot. Sometimes refs have an off night and sometimes there are reasons the coach is unaware of (shielded, weak AR's etc.) that come into play and sometimes (okay...quite a bit) the coaches are just plain wrong, especially the newbies. Refs have a thankless job. Coaches aren't all that well appreciated either. Its the gig I guess. I would like to see referees call matches as a unit though. I feel it helps them out when working as a unit. Just my thouights my friends.

happyjack, sorry it has taken me so long to respond, but this time of year is very busy for me...After reading your last post and wanting documentation and specifics on very questionable officiating from me. Unfortunately at this time I will refrain from that because of potential retaliation from officials in the near future. At this time I will no longer post my views on this subject in this forum. I know this makes you and all the other referees on this site happy. No pun intended. Please I would ask to all, no more complaining to the powers that be to censor or edit my comments. With your genuine concern about the wide discrepancy of officiating in this state I will (in the near future) document time and dates so you can be made aware of this issue. I will also look into and communicate my concerns to a higher level and see if funding can be scraped up to give some guidelines to a SERVICE that you all are providing. No need to respond to this post, I think you and I have beaten a dead horse. Good Luck.

D1 - if you were truly looking to improve the poor job officials are doing, you easily could have sent me a PM with a couple of bullet points. Instead you chose to make several other snide comments in this thread and others about officials, all during the time you've been very busy. A number of state referee committee members have posted aboutthe steps we are raking to try and improve officiating. You seem to have either missed that or ignored it. Either way, you have your mind made up that officials on this state are sub par and now also seem to hold a grudge against you and will retaliate for your comments. It is your right to have those opinions, as wrong as they may be. On an anonymous board, I'm not sure how they would identify who you are, and honestly, I don't think most would care to know. But I guess if you go to games with the mindset that the officials are terrible, you'll convince yourself you are right.
BTW, I did mention to the officials of the game at the MHS tourney your comments.

to all the powers that be on this board I would like one of you to get a message out to some particular officials. Attended last nights Fontainebleau vs W. Monroe game(Feb.8th). The game was physical and pariculary difficult to officiate, but head ref and her linesmen did a pretty good job. They let the athletes play and did not let it get out of hand. Calls were consistant even though some of the fans (both sides) may not have thought so. I feel sometimes refs. do not get to here good job when that job has been done correctly. Overall have not seen the refs. I have been ridiculed in prior threads for and that is a good thing. The games I have attended the officials have done a pretty darn good job.
