parker scores alot of goals against weak teams and his coach lets him run up the total.Stat mens nothing. Tara plays weak teams and was in a jv tournament. Dont even compare to Jason Gareys totals or any one else who played stronger opponents

Looks like we have a bunch of haters. I don't care who u play, 45 is alot of goals. I think some people are just mad they can't score 45.

45 goals is pretty incredible. Maybe it is against weak teams, but if you can net 45 goals in a season with 20 or so games, that's pretty dang good.

Hey goat, did u ever think they have as many goals because they just aren't good enough. A goal is a goal, no matter who you score against. Have a nice day I disagree, and here is why. I know a forward who score 7 goals in one game, however when he played a higher level oppeant didnt score any. Since he was in a week district, he looked incrediable on stats. Yet, couldn't score when he faced a good defense.

I must admit that 45 is a crazy number and props to the guy for doing so well. But no one on this message board can tell me with a straight face that this guy would have half that amount playing Div I ball in districts 1, 3, or 9. It just wouldnt happen. Trevor Thomas of Carencro is the most dominant player in the state right now and hes up to something like 30 or 31. So yea goals are goals, but they definately come few and far against tough opponents.

once again i think that this stat is very misleading. the kid with 45; i am sure is a very good soccer player but who are his goals against. while i have a great deal of respect for the thomas kid,(known him for years and am good friends with his parents), i think cro depends on him to much. a well coached team will find ways to contain him and force cro to beat them with other players.

He has several goals against good teams. St michaels is one team. He scored two goals on them. Tara the team he plays for has played some quality teams.

Im going to have to disagree with you goatman. If you've watch some of cro's games this year, which i am sure you have, you will notice that cro has out possessed every team they've beaten thus far. They have a well balanced attack and get lots of guys in the mix. The reason it seems like its a one man show is simply because Thomas is that dominant and talented of a goal scorer. I mean its not like those guys are telling themselves ok if i get the ball find Trevor. They are very good and can put lots of things together without Thomas. Several occasions this year Thomas has been shut down throughout the game and yet he still gets one or two goals. He just that kind of player. You can take him out that game but he'll still find a way to get it done. So yea i agree if you in the sense that if u want to at least hang in there with Cro you need to play Thomas hard and maybe even man mark him, but at the end of the game if your team came up a bit short, don't be surprised.

Parker scored 3 against Episcopal, 4 or 5 against west fel., and 2 against St. Amant. And thats just a few. I think those are some quality teams.

Ill chime in on this a bit. I'd like to look at this issue from a different perspective. First, what would each of the two players (Thomas and Parker) do if they played for the other team(Parker for Cro, Thomas for Tara)? I would reckon they would each have the same statistics--Thomas would score against the "weaker schedule', and Parker would certainly have a stronger squad around him to feed him than he does now. Second, big statistics in HS goal scoring get bigger by the premier Goalscorers lighting up the weaker teams. Happened for Garey and Lapira and it happens now. Parker has certainly scored on some cupcakes, but so has Thomas. District 3 is tough at the top 3 or 4, but after that, its about the same as district 4, 5, or 7. Carencro may have played more upper level teams, but the supporting cast around Thomas is better than that around Parker. Also, Cro has played more games than Tara, so the opportunities for Thomas to score have been more plentiful than Parker. With all that being said, I think the true allure of a goalscorer is asking does he do it when the big games come around. Both guys have stuck the ball in the net in big games this year, so I think all of their sucess is fairly equal for where they are. Fred is a great player and great kid, and so is Trevor. Instead of hammering either of them for thier supposed shortcomings, lets root for both to become the next big LA exports to colleges around the country that continue to put LA HS soccer on the map.

well futbolfan34 we will just have to agree to disagree. thomas according to rays record thread has half of cro total point 31 out of 62. that tells me they rely on him alot. one player with half the points!!! stop him, (and I know that is easier said than done), and you have a very good chance to beat cro. one more thing the last time i saw cro play, acadiana dominated play and cro tied the game on a misplayed ball in the back for acadiana.
i don't think they could play a possesion game with jesuit. jesuit is the best possesion team in the state. that doesn't mean i don't think they could beat jesuit but in my opinion it would be a major upset if they did.(read dist3 thread on my thought about jesuit and dist 3).

I've played with Parker on Premier and in Baton Rouge's 7v7 tournament. The guy is a machine. He has scored goals against quality teams. Thats it. Even scoring on EA, who is ranked 2 in the state. Thats good and thats a quality opponent.

it really doesnt matter which induvidual has the least amount of goals because the best team has the best chemistry and most likely its what team all together can score the most goals...what if you have one player who scores all your goals and he gets injured or the mark him so well he is unable to score in a big playoff game
