that game cro had their all state keeper out of the goal and had many people moved around that affetced the game greatly... just throwing it out there, not tryin to start anything.

my words: Year after year after year...
and after year...
We watch lafayette dominate, then Acadiana dominate, Then lafayette dominate, then acadiana.
i remember Carencro one year had a spark, and also Sulphur.
Especially last year. I and along with everyone in the state complimented lafayette. Dominent, best team in the state. They are huge. Solid. and Same with acadiana the years before.
Also, how much respect did we give to their stars... Joey Belfour Mike Leblanc. Joey Belfour had 40 or 50 something goals i think? We appreciated these guys and once playoffs got deep, we rooted for them.
Now this year is different. Carencro took something last year. and are proving that they really deserve it this year, by dominating the district. I never once called lafayette overatted when they were undefeated, or acadiana overrated. Even Jesuit or brother martin. We can call excuses excuses. But when you are 10-0 in district I think thats the perfect excuse to tell everyone why you are good. Trevor Thomas has 30 something goals... and on paper thats half the goals scored for cro... from what i read. Whats wrong with having a leader on your team.
you can't call him the're only player. B/c they haven't gotten beat in district yet. How about some credit to the defense. That consist of 5 other players. Plus the people that pass the ball to trevor.
Call him a leader. Along with Joe Lapira, Joey Belfour and Mike Leblanc.
I'm Done. good luck in playoffs everyone.

Plus the people that pass the ball to trevor. I agree Chase Talley has 12 Assist with 6 Goals (over half of his assist are to Trevor). The other foward, Corey Hebert, has 16 Assist with 12 Goals( 14 or 15 of his assist are to Trevor).

hey madmid3 there is no excuse, thats my point. both those losses were good wins for cro and bad losses for the rams. those two nights cro was better than the rams, congrats, it just seem like every time cro has a set back they make excusses instead of accepting the fact that that night the other team played better. i have never said on this site that cro is overrated. i think right now they ARE the best team in dist. 3 but i do think they have a chip on their shoulder, and thats not all bad; it seems to motivate them. i will tell you that i do pull for the rams first lafayette 2nd and cro thrid, is there something wrong with that? i do have to say that without thomas this team would have trouble scoring.

Malte Schick from St. Frederick has 46 goals in 17 games and M.J. Sampognaro has 27 assists along with 5 goals

St. Frederick doesn't play anywhere near the competition as Carencro does or any other top ten team in division one for that matter...If he could average four goals a game against quality Division I opponents like Carencro, Lafayette, Jesuit, Brother Martin, Acadiana, or Rummel, then i would give Malte all the credit in the world...Don't get me wrong he and M.J are both excellent players though...

Carencro scored 6 goals tonight and trevor only had one. I would say that shows hesnot the whole team.

Not to knock this St. Fred's guy, but there are at least a dozen players in the state that could have 40+ goals at this point in the season... I say that b/c I did it a few years ago when I was playing. I scored (I believe) 48 goals that season, playing no more than 30 minutes of a majority of the games. And who am I? No one really, just a solid player. Didn't win any titles or get any all-state honors. I scored so much because I was the go-to guy on a good team playing in a weak district. We ran over everyone. No one, including myself, made a big deal of it b/c the goals were cheap. I scored in games against top 5 and top 10 teams, but only once in 90 minutes. Not the 4 or 5 I could knock in in 30 minutes of most of our district games. To a larger point, all high school soccer stats can be thrown out the window when you don't play an even or consistent level of opposition.

What is better: Scoring lots of goals or scoring quality goals?

come on 2006 look who you played. scoring 6 against a weak team dosen't mean you could acore against a team like brother martin, rummel, JESUIT, lafayette or acadiana. trust me the truth about relying on one big time scorer will come out in the playoffs. good luck to cro in the playoffs. if ya'll make it back to the finals and aren't playing lafayette or acadiana i will be your most vocal fan not associated with the team.

goat i dont play high school anymore...but thanks and when i played high school i never scored 6 on a team...stats mean absolutely nothing, i mean i joked about to friends that i had 35 goals last year, but they mean nothing to me now, i still joke about to players on my team, now i play in college and i play defense instead of midfield. I'm sure some scouts might look at how many goals a person has, but that doesn't mean that they are just going to give them a scholarship based on their goals. they will go watch that person play but arent looking at how many goals they score that game, they look at their style of play.

I agree with you that St. Frederick doesn't play near the level of competition of Carencro or several of the other south LA teams, but they have played several good teams and most of which have been 3-5 A schools compared to tiny St. Frederick that is 1 A. I believe Malte eclipsed the 50 goal mark tonight and now has 53, but I agree with you cornerflag it doesnt matter how many goals you score because there are kids all over the state doing the same thing....and really all that matters is who has that ring on their finger at the end of the season...nobody remembers the kids who scores 50-60 goals in a season they remember the kids who put it all together and win a state championship

Eric Johnson's moving up in the standings. Not sure how many he has right now, but he's been coming up huge for Caddo when it counts in big games. In district play, he has 2 goals against Byrd, as well as 2 goals and an assist (to Micah Goodwin) in the 3-0 win against Shreve, and an assist in the 1-0 Airline game (to Nick Flowers). In the St. Paul's tournament he scored 2 and drew a PK against St Paul's (and might have had an assist too, not sure) , and then all 3 against Vandebilt to win 3-2 after going down 2-0, including the gamewinner in OT.
